Sample Model Number Tags
Model numbers can be made up of numbers (1005400, for example) or a combination of letters and numbers (LAT1000AAE). The model number will most likely appear on either a paper sticker or a metal plate. Your appliance's model number tag may look similar to the sample model number tags shown here (model number highlighted in yellow):
This lid lock bezel, also known as a trim piece, is a genuine OEM part designed for washing machines. It is approximately 3.5 inches long. The bezel is a white, plastic frame that fits around the perimiter of the lid lock. It features an open slot where the locking mechanism engages. The bezel ensures that the lid lock remains securely in place and that the locking mechanism functions correctly. If the bezel is damaged or faulty, the lid lock mechanism will be left exposed and vulnerable to damage. You may also notice that the lid lock is loose or unstable, and the door may not lock properly.
How Buying OEM Parts Can Save You Time and Money
Why buy the real thing?
OEM stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer. Simply put, this means that the company who made your appliance is also supplying the replacement part for it.

Both the bezel and lock release's tabs broke.
Unplug the connector to the old lock release. Plug the connector into the new lock release. Snap in the tabs that hold it into place. Then the bezel just snaps in and you're good to go!

Does anyone have a video showing how to replace part number 393 on the GE washer? It’s the lid lock bezel. There are three instructions on here but i need to see it to know what they mean
Hi Cristen, thank you for your question. Unfortunately we do not have a video that shows this. This part just snaps in and out of place. There are two tabs on the back that keep it in place. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.
