Motor froze due to moisture damage
The motor for DMV015 can work for the older DMV012. I cut out the tabs on the plastic ring that helps hold the motor in place. It now holds the slightly different sized motor perfectly and has more power than previously. (the replacement motor for DMV012 seems to be unavailable)

This is a genuine Black and Decker replacement part, it is sold individually. The 5147239-00 works in conjunction with the 5147238-00 Prefiter. It will collect the dust and debris that the Prefilter was not able to gather. It will catch the dust and small debris from entering the motor and damaging it. Once this filter becomes dirty and clogged it should be discarded, and replaced with a new one.
