Laundry Accessories Installation Kit

This is the rear mounting installation kit for various models of washer and dryer. This kit comes with a quantity of fourteen, 16-gauge, 1/2-inch mounting screws, and two, 2-inch wide metal rear brackets and two, 3/4-inch metal front brackets. This kit is installed to allow a pedestal to be installed beneath your washer or dryer. Depending on your washer or dryer model, you will need to check your user manual for the appropriate mounting instructions and locations. To ensure your own safety, it is recommended that at least two people are involved in this installation process, due to the weight and size of the appliance. To install this kit, you will need a screwdriver and wrench or pliers.

Laundry Accessories Pedestal Latch

This latch attaches to the pedestal cabinet and engages the drawer strike to keep the drawer closed. If your drawer is not closing properly or your latch is damaged, this is the part you will need to replace. This part is white in color, and it made entirely of plastic. This part is 1-1/2 inches in length and 2 inches in width. This is an OEM part sourced directly from the manufacturer. This part is sold individually. To complete this repair, you will need to take the drawer off the sliders. At this point, you will be able to access the latch and swap it out.

The Pedestal Latch Broke
I found the right part by looking at YouTube videos. Ordered from PartSelect and it arrived within a week. I looked at directions PartSelect had given to others and I also re-watched the videos. To remove the pedestal drawer you need a Phillips screwdriver and an adjustable wrench or the exact size spanner or a socket set (if you have straight-on access which I didn't). I didn't feel like going out to the hardware store so I used my Felco Pruners to remove and reinstall the pedestal drawer. I just held the nut gently in the jaws of the pruners and it worked great for the removal and not quite as well for the reinstall of the drawer, but still ok under the circumstances. The most valuable piece of advice that PartSelect gave someone else is which side of the pedestal latch goes up. It's the side that has an extra indentation. Now that I've put in the new pedestal latch, I'm never using the pedestal drawers again. I've moved all my laundry supplies to baskets on the counter, because I read reports from others that these latches break all the time and I don't relish replacing a $55 part every year or so. However, I'm grateful to PartSelect for having the part, providing instructions, and shipping in a timely manner.

Drawer under washer was frozen, would not move
Forced the drawer open and removed it, 4 screws. Found bearings on on one side severely corroded and locked up. Only hard part was determining which side it was. Ordered the left, my left looking at the washer. Wrong!it was the washers right looking back at me.
