Broken Dryer Knob
First let me just say that Partselect.com is now one my stored favorites in my web browser. I came home from a business trip and saw a pair of pliers on the dryer. I thought that was odd until my wife informed me that the knob on the dryer had broken. So she was using the pliers to select the cycle. Somehow she knew where the missing pointer was actually pointing. Since the dryer was over 5 years old I saw this as an opportunity to upgrade both appliances. Not with my frugal wife. A search of the Internet popped up partselect. I ordered Wednesday morning and the parts where on my doorstep late Thursday. Trust me I was very surprised. Everything worked perfectly. Two thumbs up!!!

Dryer squealed loudly
First, I removed the top panel which is held on at the front by pressure clips. Second, I removed the entire front panel which entailed removing 2 screws and 2 wire couplings. Third, I removed the 3 screws on the inside center of the drum which turned out to be unnecessary. Fourth, I slid the drum forward in order to access the rear bearing. Lastly, I replaced the entire bearing assembly including the shaft, bracket, bearing, grounding ball and clip. Again, probably not needed but I had ordered the parts in advance in preparation for the worst.

Support a laundry appliance leg where it meets the top of a pedestal with this replacement leg guide. The guide fits into a top corner of the pedestal and helps hold the appliance foot in the correct position. Proper support keeps the washer or dryer seated securely on its raised base. Replacement may be needed if the original guide is cracked, bent, loose, or missing. Check the mounting shape and location against the equipment diagram before ordering. Installation may require lifting the appliance, so disconnect all power and water lines and have another person help move and support the unit safely.

The leveling leg locking nut is an OEM replacement fastener for use in dryers and washers. It has a head diameter of 3/8 inches and a thread pitch of 16 threads per inch. The nut secures the leveling legs which helps to stabilize and level the appliances when they are placed on uneven surfaces. The nut ensures that the leg is stable and does not move during operation. Over time, the threads on the nut may become stripped, or the nut can corrode and break rendering it unable to secure the leveling legs. A faulty nut will cause the appliance to shake and vibrate excessively, and potentially damage the floor and its internal components. It is recommended to replace both the leveling leg and nut at the same time. Use a wrench or pliers to loosen and remove the old locking nut from the leveling leg. Thread the new nut on to the leveling leg and ensure that it is tightened securely. Be careful not to overtighten and damage the threads. Gently shake the appliance to ensure that it is stable and level. Each nut is sold individually.

Broken water inlet syphon combined with missing feet was causing water to spill out of the washer

Start by pressing each corner of the washer. If the machine rocks, one leveling foot may need adjustment or replacement. Check for damaged rubber, a bent bolt, or a stripped mounting hole. Match the new foot to the complete washer model. Disconnect power and water before moving the appliance. Never work under a washer unless it has safe support. Screw the foot into place, set the washer down, and use a level. Make small changes until every foot rests firmly on the floor.
