If your dishwasher is leaking or not draining properly, you may need to replace the drain hose. The drain hose connects to the pump located below the lower spray arm and aids in proper dishwasher drainage. This white and black plastic hose is 7.5 feet long. For this repair, you will need either a 1/4-inch or 5/16-inch nut driver, depending on your model. You will need to remove the lower access panel on your dishwasher to complete this repair; it is often easier to remove the dishwasher from the cabinet to do so. Be sure to disconnect the dishwasher from both the power and water supply before completing this repair.

Drain hose was missing
My friend bought a used dishwasher at a garage sale, the previous owner had thrown away the drain hose because it was "nasty" they said....remember it could have been cleaned. When I went to install it, I removed the old washer, and discovered that the old hose would not fit on the replacement dishwasher. Before you install the faucet adapter on your taps, be sure that it fits the coupler on your dishwasher or washer. As per the factory, this is used for faucets with inside or outside threads. For female connection (outside) just remove the washers. This adapter is approximately 1 inch in length, and slightly less than one inch in diameter. This adapter comes with two different thicknesses of rubber washer. You will not need to use both so be sure to determine which thickness works best for your tap before installing it.

faucet attachment would not sit correctly in hose connector to portable dishwasher. Received machine second hand. Could not find a replacement faucet adapter. So ordered new one and hose plus connector.
Turned machine on side. Removed two casters with Wonder Tool prybar. Then used it to remove plastic push screws holding cardboard bottom cover. Unscrewed water hose. Used screwdriver to remove clamp on drain hose. Stood machine upright, opened door. Unscrewed two screwsfrom tabs into woodblock top. Slid top forward and removed it. Cut plastic hose retainer. rat got under dishwasher and chewed water lines, grommet
saw big hole in first (main) hose - got replacement at local hardware thinking it was the only problem - it wasn't - turned on the water and noticed another leak so ordered hose from parts select - fast delivery - installed 2nd hose but still a leak so ordered grommet from parts select - again prompt delivery - installed it and voila no more leak -
also checked for rat entry points, plugged those and put down bait - bait wasn't being taken under dishwasher even tho rat reappeared so put a snap trap in back - no luck so far - teachable moment: might have been cheaper to just get another dishwasher as parts are expensive and its difficult to tell extent of damage - luckily i only needed 3 parts = $150 Read more...

First I took out the upper rack, unscrewed the old remains and screwed in the new part. Next, I took out the upper rack, turned it over, removed the old hanger (no longer necessary with newly designed part), unscrewed the other part, and screwed on the new part. So easy!
