This water inlet valve is usually located behind the lower kickplate panel in either the right or left corner of the dishwasher. The attaching solenoids on the valve open and close according to the desired amount of water needed. The water inlet valve on your dishwasher supplies water to the dishwasher. If your dishwasher is leaking because it has overflowed, the water inlet valve may be the cause. If your dishwasher continues to fill above the heating element, try opening the door latch to see if it stops filling. If it continues to fill, you have a defective inlet valve that will need to be replaced.

Water leaking from Inlet Valve
Remove the bottom cover plate. Disconnect the water inlet and black rubber hose. Remove 2 mounting screws. Pull out electrical connector. Reverse order. Be sure to get the brass inlet connector really tight so it won't leak. I did the final tightning after the part is mounted. Not a bad repair at all. The only problem was that it leaked in the first place and messed up my subfloor and laminate flooring.

Inlet valve leaking at water connection
The valve has a plastic fitting to attach the the water line with a hose fitting. Was not carful enough with the original and damaged it attaching the water line. Ordered a replacement fitting. While it is possible to replace the water inlet valve without pulling the dishwasher out from the cabinet found it was easier to get at with the machine out. The video does and good job of showing the removal and replacing the valve. Easy job, don't be like me and be careful attaching the water line.

Kenmore Dishwasher Water Valve
The notes on your web site say you can remove the valve from behind the toe face and pull it out to reach the hose and plug. I found that the Bosch designers called for both the hose and wire to on the short side. I found that pulling the dishwasher forward 6" to 9" allows you to access these connections from the side at least to hold them while making the connection. I hope this helps. The valve allowed water to fill the dishwasher when not in use.
This was the third time I replaced a fill valve in a Bosch diswasher, twice in this unit and once in a previous unit. I read the installation hints on your web site and want to add the following suggestion.The notes on your web site say you can remove the valve from behind the toe face and pull it out to reach the hose and plug. I found that the Bosch designers called for both the hose and wire to on the short side. Kenmore Dishwasher Water Inlet Valve
Removed one screw holding the inlet valve to the side rail of the dishwasher. It was attached to the hot water line and then the washer water input line. Removed the electrical connector..Pull straight off, and use a pair of pliers to open the squeeze clamp on the washer hose. The hot water supply hose has a brass fitting to loosen and remove.
Replaced the inlet valve, reconnected the electrical and also replaced the hot water line from under the sink to the washer. Used a new braided 5' hose with fittings. Used teflon tape on the screws and did not over tighten the brass fittings.
Turned on the hot water supply and checked for leaks. Operated the washer and checked for leaks. Replaced the lower covers. Read more...

Inlet valve was leaking from crack in brass fitting
Removed the lower panels from beneath the dishwasher door. 4 screws. Turned off the water.Removed one screw holding the inlet valve to the side rail of the dishwasher. Turned off the breaker for the dishwasher. Turned off the water supply valve. Unscrewed the screws in the panel that hides the parts under the dishwasher. Unscrewed the screws anchoring the dishwasher to the counter. Slid the dishwasher out about a foot. Inlet valve was located on the front left side of the dishwasher. Unclipped the wire harness. Placed a cookie sheet under the water line. Unscrewed the water line from the inlet valve. Unscrewed the two Phillips head screws holding the valve to the dishwasher frame. Got the new part. Put the screws back into the frame. Reconnected the water line and wire harness. Slid the washer back into place. Turned on the water valve. Watched for leaks. Turned the breaker back on and started the cycle. Watched for leaks. Once I saw there weren’t any replaced the screws anchoring it to the counter and replaced the cover on the bottom. That was it! Took me longer to type out the steps than it did to actually do the repair. Read more...

Dishwasher was not filling up at the start of the cycle.
This was really easy. Have done it before on other older dishwashers in the past. Turned off the breaker for the dishwasher. Turned off the water supply valve.
