General Electric Dishwasher Motor And Pump Kit
1. I also purchased a new drain solenoid and impeller kit. Note that both of these items are already included in the Motor and Pump kit replacement. There is no need to by both, now I have extras.
2. The end of the drain tube has to be trimmed if you are routing the drain tube to an air gap mounted on your kitchen sink. You have to cut the large diameter end of the tube to get to the narrow portion that will fit on your air gap.
3. The first cycle you run with the new motor/pump assembly is noisy. When you first fire it up the components in the pump are all dry, and they squeal until the water gets to them. I initially thought I had done something wrong, but once the water started flowing all the peculiar sounds cleared up. Read more...

Water not draining from dishwasher
I had never done work on my dishwasher - I was a rookie in this area. Turns out the work itself was quite simple. Pulled the dishwasher out, turned it over, and was able to easily replace the motor and pump assembly. The drain tube was also an easy replace. A couple key notes:1. I also purchased a new drain solenoid and impeller kit. Note that both of these items are already included in the Motor and Pump kit replacement. There is no need to by both, now I have extras.

General Electric Dishwasher Blower Motor
PartSelect Number PS3505450
Manufacturer Part Number WD26X10056
This blower motor assembly is an essential component of the dishwasher’s venting system, designed to improve drying performance by circulating hot air throughout the interior. By moving air efficiently, it helps water evaporate from dishes, reducing moisture and preventing water spots. The assembly is typically located inside the dishwasher door in the upper left corner and installs using existing mounting points. Common signs of failure include dishes remaining wet after a cycle, interruptions during drying, or unusual humming or buzzing noises. A reliable solution for restoring effective drying and quiet operation.

Loud noise during the drying cycle at end of wash.
Power off. Loosen screws under door with door closed. Open door, remove Philips screws, slide off door. Remove and replace motor. Note: the motor I replaced had identical resistance readings as the new one but was still bad. The old motor can also be disconnected and powered from a 110v outlet in ur house. Under the kickplate I found a folded up paper with an electrical diagram and the function test to test individual motors and pumps.

General Electric Dishwasher Vent Fan Assembly
The first thing i checked was the drain filter which was clogged. I took shop vac and sucked all the excess water out and removed the flood switch. seemed ok but you can't tell if its ok, so just replace it. I then removed the door from the unit. I needed to replace the dispenser. After the door was off I tilted the machine forward, to check the heater. I pulled the quick connects off and checked the resistance across the heater, should be 16 ohms mine was 16.3 so heater not bad. looking at the bottom of the machine, follow the left hand wire and it will attach to a thermal overload. (a small round disc which is not listed in the parts manuals ), I checked for continuity across the switch it was open.
On this model GE the switch is resettable, a small reset button in the middle of the overload. I reset it and continuity was restored. only three things might cause this to kick. one the flood switch, the vent fan or the turbidity sensor. I replaced all three and the machine is working great.
If you have replaced your heater and still doesn't heat, try resetting that switch. and give GE a big thank you for not telling any one about the switch.
A big thank you to PartSelect for having all the correct replacement parts. Read more...
