This is a shift actuator, and is designed for use in washing machines. This shift actuator is made to change the mode of the motor between spin and agitate, as well as communicate with the control board how fast the washer is spinning. If the shift actuator in your washer is broken or bad, it can lead to the washer not spinning or agitating correctly and may even show an error code related to that. This shift actuator is made mostly of plastic but does feature a 120V/60HZ/2.8W motor. This actuator is an OEM part and is sold individually.

Reolaced actuator

First, this is the second time the transmission actuator went bad. The first-time washer was still under warrenty and I watched the tech replace it. Machine would stop at spin cycle
After disconnecting water lines and power, tip machine onto its back. The actuator is located under the drum. Remove the cover over the motor/ drive belt. Actuator is located by the transmission and held on by several screws. Unplug the wiring harness and remove three screws with Phillips screwdriver. Install new actuator..

Hello Montona, Thank you for the question. Your washer senses the contents to determine the load size and balance to decide on the right amount of water to clean the load. If it is stuck in sensing mode, you can try to reset the appliance. To reset, unplug the washer and leave it for about 15 to 20 minutes before powering it on again. Lift and close the lid about six times within 12 seconds to reset the unit. We hope this helps!

THE MACHINE WAS STARTED. THE WATER TO THE MACHINE WAS CUT OFF. THE PUMPWAS RUNNING AND THE MACHINE CUT NOE BE CUT OFF. I UNPLUGGED THE MACHINE. THEN PLUGGED BACK IN AND THE PUMP WAS STARING TO RUN BUT STILL COULD NOT BE CUT OFF AT THE SWITCH AND NOW ALL THE INDICATER LIGHTS ARE OUT. WHEN PLUGGED IN THE PUMP RUNS, BUT NOTHING ELSE WORKS.

Hello Bill, thank you for reaching out to PartSelect. It sounds like your washer is in flood mode. If the unit is in flood mode, you just need to unplug the washer for 60 seconds, so the washer knows you are in front of it. Then plug the washer back in and give it 20 minutes to finish its flood mode sequence. The drain pump will continue to run until the sequence is finished. Nothing will be harmed, it is designed to do this. Once it is done, the drain pump will shut off and you can use the washer like normal. Just be sure the water is turned onto the washer, and you should be good to go. Now, if the unit does not reset, the control board inside your control board, part number PS12114298, needs to be replaced. Good luck with the repair!
