Heating element staying on all the time.
Well - I'd taken my clothes out of the dryer and put them on the pool table and went upstairs to go to bed. I thought at last moment to go pee first and ran back down stairs. Downstairs I smelled the odor of burning lint. When I looked into the laundry room, my dryer was glowing red hot - Sweet! It seems that the heating element was staying on even though the dryer was off. I looked in the various descriptions of myriad failures of dryers and didn't find that one in the documentation at all. So - I replaced the thermal fuse, the Thermal cut-off and the timer. Alas - the replacement timer had to be replaced because the clock motor was defective. When the second replacement timer arrived, it was quickly installed. Long story short - if the timer is in any play mode, the heating element stay on full blast - not low, not medium, but full on chub - and this is whether the fan or tumbler are on or not, door open or not. And so the mystery anomaly remains un-repaired, unresolved and perhaps even, undiagnosed. Note - the new Thermal Cut Off does not cut off anything even when it cookin red hot. Strange. Read more...

Timer stopped working
Well I unplugged the dryer, then I removed all the screws off the back of the main console. After that I unscrewed the old timer. Then I one by one moved the wires from the old timer control to the new timer control. Then i screwed in the new timer control. After that I screwed the back plate for the main console back on. And finally I plugged the dryer back in. And there you go it was that easy.

I also wanted to say that this experience with parts select was most amazing one too. I ordered the part one day with a 3 to 5 day delevery time. The following day I checked on the status and found out that the part would be here the next day so I was really amazed that it would be that quick. I would recommend and would come back to parts select for futuer needs for appliance parts.

Not turning on/Not engaging all selections
Removed timer knob on front. Removed hex head screws from the back of top panel using pliers to loosen and then screw driver to remove. Removed screws from old timer to remove it from the front panel. Took a photo of where the wires plugged into the timer (in case I was interrupted, I could go back to reference the picture.) Removed the wire leads and removed the old timer. Check the wires to make sure they were in good condition. Inserted wire leads into new timer and screwed it back to the front panel and reattached the top back cover panel. Put knob back on with the indicator at the 12 o’clock position. Done and the dryer works perfect fully. It took less then 15 minutes from pulling out the dryer, doing the repair and pushing the dryer back into position. The hardest part was removing over tightened screws. Read more...

Dryer cycle would never end
I furst unplugged the dryer. I pulled the knob off the timer and removed the screw holding the timer to the front panel. I then removed the hex nuts holding the steel panel on the upper portion of the dryer from behind and removed the cover. I located the timer and removed two more screws holding the timer onto the main housing. From there it was as easy as removing each color coded wire and relocating the wires to the new timer. I resecured the new timer in the reverse order and plugged the dryer back in. It couldnt have been any easier! Read more...

Dryer indicated error codeF23 after 1 minute of operation
I followed the test guidance on the tech sheet (located behind the front lower cover). According to it, F23 was a short in the outlet thermistor. The thermistor tested good along with all the other replaceable temp related devices.
I then started a general diagnostic following the steps in the tech guide. The dryer failed a motor control step which indicated a bad control board. Replacing the board (after it arrived) took less than 5 minutes and was 100% plug and play.
The most difficult part was ensuring that the test leads for the multimeter were on the correct test points. If you are not confident in using a multimeter, I would not recommend you perform this level of repair.
