This is a shift actuator, and is designed for use in washing machines. This shift actuator is made to change the mode of the motor between spin and agitate, as well as communicate with the control board how fast the washer is spinning. If the shift actuator in your washer is broken or bad, it can lead to the washer not spinning or agitating correctly and may even show an error code related to that. This shift actuator is made mostly of plastic but does feature a 120V/60HZ/2.8W motor. This actuator is an OEM part and is sold individually.

Machine would stop at spin cycle
After disconnecting water lines and power, tip machine onto its back. The actuator is located under the drum. Remove the cover over the motor/ drive belt. Actuator is located by the transmission and held on by several screws. Unplug the wiring harness and remove three screws with Phillips screwdriver. Install new actuator..

Somehow or another, the plastic cup inside vanished.
This was a really easy replacement job. All I had to do was twist the old Fabric Softener Dispenser to the left to unlock it, pull it off, and put the replacement on.

Top part of agitator was not locking in and turning
Remove top "cap" on agitator to expose the bolt that holds the agitator to the drum shaft. Undo the bolt and pull out the agitator. Disassemble, toss the old parts and install the new parts in reverse order. Repair took less than 5 minutes and we can now do full loads of laundry again!

Broken Face Clips on dispenser drawer
I unclipped the old drawer parts from the broken drawer and replaced the old parts onto the new drawer and slid the whole drawer back in the washing machine. It took longer to type this that it did to repair the washer. No tools needed at all.
