Sample Model Number Tags
Model numbers can be made up of numbers (1005400, for example) or a combination of letters and numbers (LAT1000AAE). The model number will most likely appear on either a paper sticker or a metal plate. Your appliance's model number tag may look similar to the sample model number tags shown here (model number highlighted in yellow):
This genuine OEM suspension rod kit is designed to support the inner tub of your washing machine and minimize vibrations during wash and spin cycles. If your washer has started making loud banging or knocking noises, it could be a sign that the suspension rods are worn or damaged. Replacing them helps prevent the drum from hitting the cabinet and extends the life of your appliance. Each kit includes four suspension rods, springs, and suspension ball cups. It’s recommended to replace all four at once, as they generally wear out at the same rate. This kit fits various washing machine models and offers a reliable fix for noise and stability issues.
How Buying OEM Parts Can Save You Time and Money
Why buy the real thing?
OEM stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer. Simply put, this means that the company who made your appliance is also supplying the replacement part for it.

Just What the Wash Doctor Ordered
The suspension rod replacement kit solved my Whirlpool’s violent shaking during spins. Thanks to the tutorial videos I was able to switch them out with only moderate difficulty. Just have a couple of extra hands standing by when you lift the tub to secure the rods to the ball supports…

Off Balance, Shaking and noise during spin cycle
I followed the video instructions on the Part Select site. They were very good. I used the vise-grip to grab the rod and pull up to release the top hook. It is a little tight to get in there but doable. A tip would be when installing the new rods, pre attach the vise grip. It makes it easier and you don't have to manipulate your hand
... Read mores as much. put them down far enough as the new rods are a bit harder to pull up. The washer works great now and all symptoms are gone!

The tub was horribly out of balance due to bad suspension rods.
I checked on-line to diagnose the problem, then I researched the parts needed to fix it. I also researched and watched a video on YouTube. Once I removed one of the old suspension rods I simply used the hooked end to grab the hooked end of the new rod and used a vice grip to pull it into place.

Unbalanced washer
Unplugged, Removed rear screws Pulled lid forward, and lifted, rested against wall Removed rim piece, agitator, my wife cleaned them Removed, replaced suspension rods one at a time, replaced plastic seats as I went Removed old hub, cleaned and lubed gear and replaced, used a towel so screws did fall in the basin holes
... Read more Put back together Used instructions to recalibrate Tested it out, good to go notes….the old parts don’t really appear damaged to the untrained eye, probably should send the bumper padding with this kit, the recal instructions were money!
I couldn't have done the job without the video or a helper. Replacing the first rod was a struggle but once we figured it out, the rest were easy.

Washer was bouncing everywhere
Unscrewed the screws. Lifted the top and supported it. Took back off washer also. Had someone help "recommend ". Was fairly easy to remove old and replace the new suspension. Old springs were wore out. New ones work perfect.
On spin cycle the washer would bounce all over the was room

My Whirlpool washer shakes violently while spinning. Could the suspension rods need replacing if none are broken?
For model number WTW5000DW2
Hello Timothy, Thank you for your inquiry. There may be other damage to them, so we would recommend replacing them. We would also recommend checking the tub wear pads, the drive hub and the drive pulley. Also make sure that the leveling legs are evenly balanced and that the washer load is balanced and not overloaded. Hope this helps.
My husband replaced the hub assembly. We recalibrated, now it makes an unbalanced crashing sound. The machine only has 2 plastic cups???? Why are the other 2 missing? Wish this happened while it was under warranty & not 2 days after it ended! Can't find. suspension rod replacement parts with this part #W10800122 that is on the rod??????? Please help.

The washing machine still hits the sides of machine even after I replaced the suspension rods on my Whirlpool washer. Any suggestions what the problem might be? Thanks
Hi Stanley,
Thank you for contacting us regarding this situation. If the tub in your washer is still hitting the sides of the washer, there are some parts that you will need to check to see which one is causing the issue. You will need to check the suspension rod supports, the drive pulley and the belt. I hope this helps.

The drum in the washer seems loose. It can be rocked from side to side and makes the washer squeak when in use. This just happened very suddenly. Guessing the problem is with something dealing with suspension?
For model number WTW5000DW1
Hello Toni, Thank you for the question. It is most likely a broken Suspension Rod, PartSelect Number PS12347546. I suggest checking the rods for damage. Hope this helps!
