Hello Barbara, thank you for contacting us. You can follow these instructions to remove the agitator. You will have to remove the fabric softener dispenser first. Then use a long ratchet with a 7/16th socket to loosen the nut inside the agitator. Then push the agitator a little in order to remove it. The problem is most likely linked to the washer's faulty drive hub. You may need to replace the drive hub, part number PS6012095. We hope this helps.

Hi Patrick, Thank you for your question. If there is lint on your clothes after a wash, the drain pump filter may be clogged and you will need to clean it. This filter is located in the bottom of the outer tub assembly under the basket. To access it, you need to remove the basket and the agitator. Once you have found it, unthread the screws securing it, so you can remove it. If you have overloaded your washer, this would be another reason why lint would build up on your clothes. Check the drive blocks, they are usually made of plastic and can wear out over time. If the drive belt is broken or loose, the agitator will also not work. We hope this helps.
