Model numbers can be made up of numbers (1005400, for example) or a combination of letters and numbers (LAT1000AAE). The model number will most likely appear on either a paper sticker or a metal plate. Your appliance's model number tag may look similar to the sample model number tags shown here (model number highlighted in yellow):
This moisture sensor plate is specifically designed to fit with your Samsung dryer. It is made of stainless steel and measures approximately 5 inches long. It is designed to detect the amount of moisture in the clothes, and it sends signals to the control board when the clothes are dry so that the dryer can end the drying cycle. If your dryer is not heating up properly or you find that your clothes are still damp at the end of the cycle, then the moisture plate sensor is likely malfunctioning.

Dryer getting warm but turning off before clothes dry
Cleaned the sensors from inside the drum with alcohol and that did not work. Ordered two sensors. Lift top cover. Remove screws on each of the front side that secures front cover. Unplug door sensor and pull front cover towards you and lift at same time removing from frame. I own dogs and immediately noticed dog hair and surprisingly
... Read morelint all over the place. Remove the screws from the lint trap. (Theres one you access from inside the drum.) Unplug your sensor wires. Remove lint trap. The sensors simply push in/out. While I was in there I removed the cover for the lint tube and cleaned it out good. Lint had started to gather around the fan. Reverse your process and your done. TIP: Keep your screws orderly as you unscrew them. If you have this problem, just a good cleaning of hair, lint, dirt may do the trick as it essentially packs around the plug of the sensors. I had already ordered my sensors so I just put them in. I took my time and cleaned good and it was about an hour. It could be done in 15-30 minutes easily.

Moisture sensor not working. Dryer would not shut down when clothes were dry.
*** Unplug Dryer *** Spent years (PITA) trying to figure out how to do this repair.
About 2 weeks ago I came across this U-Tube video. This video really saved the day and I cannot tell you how much I appreciate this guys video.

Can you tell me how to remove the tray to get the moisture sensor out please?

Hello Kizzie,
Thanks for your question. You will need to remove the lint filter and the lint filter cover by unscrewing the three screws holding it in place. Push the cover inwards and lift it. Rotate it to the side to access the wires. Be careful of the sharp edges - use needle-nose pliers! Disconnect the wires and remove the lint filter cover, then remove the moisture sensor by pressing on the release tabs. Lift the tabs at an angle and remove them. Reverse this procedure to install the new moisture sensor.

I replaced the heating element and the tub belt. Now my Samsung dryer does not dry clothes and the drying cycle stops premature. Please help.

Hello Valorie, Thank you for contacting us. I suggest checking the following two parts: PS4204984 Thermistor, and PS4206812 Moisture Sensor. You can test the parts with a multimeter. If you are unfamiliar with how a multimeter functions, we have videos available to assist you.

The dryer does not dry the clothes completely. We cleaned the moisture sensor and it worked for a few weeks but is not drying the clothes completely again. We tried cleaning the sensor again but that is not working this time.

Hi Robert, thank you for your question. When you are experiencing an issue like this there are a few parts that you will have to test to determine what is causing your issue. For all of these parts you can test them with a multi meter. First you will have to test your thermostats and thermal fuses to make sure they are all functioning correctly. After that you will want to test parts in this order, your m series coils, igniter itself, or your radiant flame sensor. You may also want to check your regulator just to make sure that part is functioning properly as well. Something else you should also check would be your filter and ducts. Make sure there is absolutely no blockage that would restrict air flow in your appliance. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

My issue is when dryer is not being used it builds up moisture inside dryer? I put the dryer to run for 20 mins and it dries up. Then later on it builds more moisture up. A little help to make sure to get the right parts thanks.

Hello Roberto, Thank you for the question. I suggest opening up the cabinet and cleaning out any lint build up. You shoudl also clean out the Duck and the vent. Make sure the vent pipe is sitting level with no bends or dips. Moisture and lint can get built up over time. You can use a dryer vent testing kit to see if the dryer is getting enough air as well. I replaced the heating element a few months ago has been running fine ever since now my dryer has been stopping mid cycle. I just replaced the thermal fuse and it is still doing the same thing. What else could be the problem?

Hello Christine, Thank you for the question. I suggest testing or replacing the Thermistor, PartSelect Number PS4204984 and the Moisture Sensor, PartSelect Number PS4206812. You can test to check for continuity with a multi meter. Hope this helps!
Replaced heating element 6 months ago, dryer would get extremely hot and shut off, now the dryer is no longer heating. Probably need to replace the heating element again, but was thinking i will need to replace either the thermistor, thermostat or high limit thermostal, that may be causing element to burn out so quickly. What's your thoughts?

Samsung DVE45M5500Z/A3 dryer that turns off after a few seconds then automatically tries to start back up, then shuts back off, it will repeat until it finally just shuts off for good. No error code pops up, its about 7 years old and never had any issues. I took it apart and it was incredibly dusty, the motor was gunked up bad, took it outside and used an air compressor to completely blow it out. After we put it back together it started up and worked fine for week, now its back to shutting down and dying. I checked the thermal fuse with a multimeter and it had continuity. Any ideas on what else it could be? Could the motor just be going bad?
