Dryer not getting hot and cooling light stays on what's the most probable cause of this
For model number 40289032010
Hi Dennis, thank you for the question. Based on our understanding of the issue, we would suggest you check the thermistor, part number PS4204984, as it is the most likely cause of this issue. A dryer thermistor monitors the temperature of the burner or heater housing and will shut off the heat once a sufficient temperature is reached. If the thermistor is faulty, the dryer may not heat at all, and you may need to replace this part. We hope this sorts out your problem!

Changed thermal fuse 2 times will operate for awhile then blows again changed heating element still blows fuse after few weeks exhaust is clean even put new vent on?
For model number 40289032010
Hello Edward, thank you for your question. We would recommend testing the other thermostats in the unit, which are PartSelect Number: PS4205217, PartSelect Number: PS4205213. There could be an issue with one of the thermostats not regulating properly, which would cause the unit to overhead and blow the fuse. I hope this helps.

Dryer heats and rotates just fine, but at the same rotation point on every spin, it makes a loud squeal/metal on metal type of sound. Could it be the belt?
For model number Kenmore 402-89032010
Hello Katie, thank you for reaching out. A loud metal-on-metal squeal at the same point in every drum rotation is not caused by the belt. This symptom indicates that a support part for the drum has worn out, most commonly a failing drum roller bearing. When these parts wear down, the drum makes direct metal contact as it turns, creating the repeated squeal at the same spot. Inspect the drum rollers and replace if it is worn to restore smooth, quiet drum movement. The part number is PS4221885. We hope this information helps!

Dryer wasn’t heating
Well it went really well until the dryer was put back together as it still didn’t heat. The dryer was taken apart again. This time the thermistors &fuse was tested. Alas, the new fuse was faulty. After putting the car lid fuse back on n, the dryer worked again

Loud noise like boots being ran through the dryer
YouTube, YouTube, YouTube. I YouTubed many videos on how to take a dryer apart to reach the drum support roller and axle. After watching numerous videos, I settled on one that had my exact model of dryer. For my dryer, previous inputs said I needed two rollers to for my model. That is not the case. My model actually has 4 rollers, 2 in th

e front and two in the back. I ordered 2 initially but only needed 1 thankfully since only one roller was bad. Keep it simple stupid is how I got it done. Dryer's are pretty simple machines mechanically. Don't trash your noisy dryer. We bought ours in 2014 and it only recently started giving us issues. This is after 2 moves and being run daily for a family of 6. I'm glad I found partselect.com. They saved me a ton of money.
