Hello,i have already replced the clutch assembly because it was making terrible howling noise. Noise is gone but now it wont spin the tub. When the spin cycle starts, it sounds like it wants to spin but then it makes a high speed rubbing noise. I took the lid lock off of the lid and inserted it into the lid lock switch to see what is going on during the spin cycle. I saw the impeller spins up fast for a few seconds and the tub appears to start spinning due to friction, but then it all stops, 30 seconds later it starts again and does the same thing. The tub never gets spinning under power, just friction.

Hello Frank, thank you for your question. I would recommend checking the ACTUATOR part number W10913953, and GEARCASE part number W10771760. If the unit is not spinning, but working otherwise the issue is probably the actuator part. I hope this helps!

Hello the other day while i was doing laundry my centennial was getting ready to go to the rinse cycle and agitate when it made this loud noise kind of like metal on metal sound and now will not agitate during the wash or rinse cycles but spins just fine. Conveniently my washer isn't covered by may tags so called 10 year replacement warranty they want me to pay 125.00 for a repair man just to diagnose my machine if i would have known that may tag is no longer american made but now comes from china i think i definitely would have bought a different machine please help me with this problem thanks ever so much

Hello Patty, thank you for your question. We would recommend checking the clutch part number W10721967, and the actuator part number W10913953. It sounds like the clutch broke and now the unit will not go from spin into agitate mode. Both of the above mentioned parts help to agitate the unit. I hope this helps!

It does not spin at the end of the wash. It washes and drains.
For model number ATW4676BQ1

Hello Roger, Thank you for your inquiry. We would recommend checking the following parts to fix your issue: shift actuator, lid latch assembly, drive belt, clutch assembly, and the gear case. You can test the parts with a multimeter. If you are unfamiliar with how a multimeter functions, there are YouTube videos available to assist you. Hope this helps!

How do i test a actuator
For model number wtw5000dw0

Hello Carlos, thank you for your question. Unfortunately, we do not have any information on testing that part. However, if the unit isn't shifting between agitate and spin, if the washer is not washing properly, clothing still soaking wet, will not agitate, burning smell, will not drain, unusual noises, pumps but will not spin the actuator may be faulty. I hope this helps!

My washer takes a long time to go from sensing to wash to rinse to spin. When it does move to the next cycle it does not agitate or spin it make a noise, stops, tries again 3 times to advance to next cycle still making a noise. Then the noise stops and after about 30 minutes the washer will move to next cycle drain, fill up and then starts the noise again for 3 tries to advance, there is still no agitating or spinning. The lock on the wash is engaged. Please help.

Hello Vickie, thank you for your question. We would recommend checking the clutch part number W10721967, and the actuator part number W10913953. It sounds like the clutch broke and now the unit will not go from spin into agitate mode. Both of the above mentioned parts help to agitate the unit and switch between cycles. I hope this helps!

My washer will spin but not agitate. What parts do i need to repair? Series 500 Kenmore
For model number 110.25132411

Hi Tim, thank you for your question. There are a few parts to check when your appliance is not agitating. You should take a look at your driver pulley, and your belt first. If those parts are fine then you may need to look into your actuator being the issue. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

My Whirlpool washer will agitate just fine during a normal wash, but it does nothing at the spin cycle. When i select "drain & spin" only, it will drain and spin just fine. Could it be the actuator? The lid locks and the indicator led shows it locked as well during the spin.
For model number wtw4815ewo

Hi Christopher. It is possible it could be the actuator. Thank you for your question and good luck with your repair.

The washing machine will not agitate or spin out the water. Do you think it is the actuator, if so can the part be tested? Thanks
For model number ntw4605ew0

Hi Maurice, thank you for your question. If your appliance will not spin or agitate, you may want to look at your belt, drive pulley, door lock, and your actuator for being the issue. You can generally test most parts with a multi meter. Here is a video that will show you how to use one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bWC44fHn0As. Good luck with your repair.

Agitater oly works one direction
For model number ntw4605ewo

Hello Parker, thank you for your question. First check the belt, pulley, and clutch assembly under the tub. If these parts are not broken or work, you may want to test the wires to the capacitor to see if one of the wires is not getting power. Sometimes, if the wires are tested and the yellow wire that connects from the capacitor to the motor harness has failed, the washer will not agitate back and forth, just in one direction. If that is the case, the capacitor part number W11158830 would have to be replaced. I hope this helps!

Wouldn't spin properly
Replaced the gears that were eaten up, the retainer and the actuated. All parts but the spring are plastic. Did all according to your instructions. Happy to report all went well. Washer is working again.

Removing wash plate from wash tub
After removal of wash plate bolt. Apply Liquid Wrench oil to wash plate spline shaft. Give time for oil to penetrate. In the time it took to disassemble the motor and gearbox the oil had worked. Give the wash plate a good knock with a rubber mallet several times. After that I was able to wiggle off the wash plate by hand without breaking anything. Be sure to pull straight up on the wash plate, any twisting or torquing will bind the spline and the wash plate wont move.
The PartSelect YouTube video was perfect for the other parts of the repair.
