Fault Codes

The biggest hurdle in appliance repair is figuring out what the heck’s wrong with your appliance! Sometimes it’s easy like a broken handle but most times, it’s hard like a mysterious leak or a random noise. Sometimes though, our appliances actually tell us.

If your appliance is flashing a fault code, it’s trying to tell you what’s wrong and how to fix it. All you need to know is how to understand those codes - and that’s where we come in. Admiral Fault Codes

Fault codes for Admiral ovens, ranges and stoves. Example, F9: Door Latch - Check door latch components and replace if necessary

Whirlpool Appliance Fault Codes

Fault codes for a number of Whirlpool appliances, including two and four digit codes for ovens, ranges and stoves, as well as Whirlpool Duet front loading washers and dryers and Whirlpool Calypso Automatic washers.

Roper Fault Codes

Fault codes for Roper ovens, ranges and stoves, two digit and four digit codes. Example, F9: Oven Door Lock Failure - Check door lock switches and wiring. Make sure lock switch is not stuck.

Gibson Appliance Fault Codes

Fault codes for Gibson ovens, ranges and stoves. Example, F2: Oven Temperature Too Hot - Check and replace oven temperature sensor (RTD).

Hotpoint Appliance Fault Codes

Fault codes for Hotpoint ovens, ranges and stoves. Example, F9: Door Lock Switch - Check door lock switches and wiring.

Kelvinator Appliance Fault Codes

Fault codes for Kelvinator ovens, ranges and stoves. Example, F2: Oven Temperature Too Hot - Check and replace oven temperature sensor.

KitchenAid Appliance Fault Codes

Fault codes for a number of KitchenAid appliances, including two and four digit codes for ovens, ranges and stoves, as well as cooktop, front load automatic washer and dryer, and built-in microwaves.

Magic Chef Fault Codes

Fault codes for Magic Chef ovens, ranges and stoves. Example, F7: Function Key Shorted or Stuck - Replace touch pad, or touch pad and control board (clock) if all one assembly.

Caloric Fault Codes

Fault codes for Caloric gas ranges, eg. Clock Error - Replace control board (clock).

Speed Queen Fault Codes

Fault codes for Speed Queen dryers and front and topload washers. Example, EC:09 - Corrupted Data Error - Communication problem. Try card again.

Sears and Kenmore Appliance Fault Codes - Model Prefix Chart

Appliances branded with the Kenmore logo and sold through Sears are produced by other major manufacturers. Using the Sears Model Prefix Chart, find out which manufacturer produced your appliance to find the right repair information. Locate the model number on your appliance and match up the first three digits before the decimal point of the model number to find the manufacturer.

Jenn-Air Appliance Fault Codes

Fault codes for JennAir ovens, ranges and stoves (newer and older styles). Example, F5: Watchdog and Hardware Conflict - Replace control board (clock).

Westinghouse Appliance Fault Codes

Fault codes for Westinghouse ovens, ranges and stoves. Example, F2 - Oven Temperature Too Hot - Check oven temperature sensor. Replace if defective. If oven temperature sensor is ok, replace control board (clock).

Amana Appliance Fault Codes

Fault codes for Amana ovens, range, stoves including dual convection wall overs and 'big ovens'.

Estate Appliance Fault Codes

Fault codes for Estate ovens, ranges and stoves, eg. F9: Oven Door Lock Failure - Check door lock switches and wiring.

GE Appliance Fault Codes

Fault codes for a number of GE products, including dishwashers from late 1990's forward, microwaves, ovens, ranges, stoves and WSL model washers. Example, C3: Will Not Drain - This occurs when dishwasher is not able to switch to he drain mode. Call for in home service.

Hardwick Appliance Fault Codes

Fault codes for Hardwick ovens, ranges and stoves. Example, F1: Defective Touch Pad or Control Board (clock) - Replace touch pad or control board (clock). Refer to F1 Test for more information.

Thermador Appliance Fault Codes

Fault codes for Thermador ovens, ranges and stoves (starting with E and F). Example, E13: Latch Motor/Control Board Failure - For CT models, check power to latch motor. For CMT models, the control board has not converted.

Dacor Appliance Fault Codes

Fault codes for Dacor ovens, ranges and stove. Example, F7: Door Lock Enabled Above Temperature - Check door lock switches and wiring.

Maytag Fault Codes

Fault codes for Maytag ovens, ranges and stoves, as well as Maytag stackable automatic washer and dryer. Example, U: Unbalanced Load - Open lid and re-balance load manually. If error persists, check unbalance switch and control board and replace if faulty.

Tappan Appliance Fault Codes

Fault codes for Tappan ovens, ranges and stoves. Example, F8 - Oven Door Lock Failure - Check door lock switches and relay.
