Main Terminal Block Kit
PartSelect Number PS471605
Manufacturer Part Number 5304409888
Terminal block kits are also known as terminal boards, or terminal strips, and they are found in a wide variety of household appliances. Most often in ranges, wall ovens, and dryers. This kit attaches the power cord to the inner wiring of your appliance. If the terminal block is faulty, your appliance will not get the power it needs to operate properly. When removing the old block pay close attention to the wire placement, this will make installing your new part much easier. If you notice any of the wires or wire terminals are corroded or damaged they will also need to be replaced.

Cord was not tightened enough by delivery crew.
PF alarm appeared on display. Noticed clicking when cord was moved. Had arced for some time and melted original block. New part slightly different. Only has 3 lugs, old one had six. Stack using washers provided. Take note of colors before disassembly. Use caution while working through access opening. The edges are sharp. Only tools needed are phillips screwdriver, deep socket for lug nuts. Nut driver optional. Hope this is helpful.

Dryer not heating. When moving it away from wall it was sparking badly where the cord hooks up.
Removed case parts to expose internal wiring. Vacuumed up various types of mouse debris and plugged hole they were using. Ordered terminal block to replace the one that melted while sparks were flying. Replaced power cord with one I had in my basement from some other appliance that died a while ago. "Hey honey, ya know those old parts I saved..." :) Now it is heating to capacity and no spark-show! Oh yeah, the part I ordered from Partselect.com was delivered to my door the next day!!!!! Wow!

Maytag DE512 dryer would't heat.
After 22 years of continued use, my Maytag dryer stopped heating. Needless to say that I'm very impressed with the quality of Maytag products and I haven't had any problems with this unit until now. Your website was very informative and it really helped me pinpoint my problem. The parts were easy to install and it took less then 1 hour to complete. First: disconnect the power cord and the vent hose and lay the dryer on its back. There are two screws on the bottom of the door frame, remove these and then tilt the door assembly up until you can unlock the spring clips which hold the top of the door assembly to the dryer frame. Disconnect the two wires that are attached to the door switch and remove the door. The heater element is located on the right side, it's tube shaped. Remove the two slip-on connector wires attached to the top of the heater element. There are 4 tiny screws (use nut driver) holding the heater assy. First, remove two screws that hold the metal flap on the front of the element tube, then remove the screw located inside the element near the front lip (use a short nut driver) and then one screw attached to a flange at the back-end of the element on the right side. Pull out the heater assy, and install the replacement. If you're replacing the short jumper wire located on the element so be sure to replace it before you install the new element. Bolt the new element to the dryer using the 4 tiny screws, connect the 2 wires to the heater assy, re-attach the door by first aligning the spring clips to the top of dryer assy, then re-connect the 2 wires to the door switch, lower the door assy and install the 2 screws at the bottom of the door frame. Re-connect the vent hose and power.
