This is the replacement charcoal filter for your microwave. It is silver and black in color and measures approximately 10 inches by 2 ½ inches. The charcoal filter removes cooking odors from the air that circulates through the microwave vent. You will likely need to replace the charcoal filter if you notice any damage to it, or if it has been in your microwave for a long time. This part is sold individually and is an authentic OEM part sourced directly from the manufacturer.

My microwave is back in business
I was glad I was able to chat with a sales person about which part to order and once the part came in and I installed it I needed help again and was able to do a chat with a salesperson again who guided me. My microwave is working again and I love it. Karin

Easy Repair
Fit easily and would recommend for a DIY. Had microwave serviced a year ago and they just left out filter when they put it back together again. I would have never known.

Thermal Fuse out
There are videos on YouTube on how to do this but there are a couple of things I’m going to recommend. Color code your plugs when you take the main control panel off, be patient when removing the screws on the thermal fuse use a 45 degree screwdriver but replace the screws with a small hex head self tapper screw for next time. Ok. Surprised I was sent a damaged part. Box was intact but the aluminum frame was bent. Looks like I received a factory reject. I was able to make it fit

Had to replace charcoal filter
Open the front cover by pushing it at the top (where it says “Push”), lifting up and pushing back on top edge of the old filter. Pull it out. Installing the new one is basically just the reverse of those steps! That simple.
Old filter did seem to be a little thicker (filter material), but the new one was the exact same dimen

Charcoal filter - your instructions say to press and release the panel inside the oven door. There is no such panel on my microwave. There are two screws above the door but, when I remove them and the panel they screw into, there is no filter to be seen.
For model number JVM3160DF2WW
Hello Michael, Thank you for the question. If the filter has never been replaced the dealer may have not installed one. The Charcoal filter will fit in behind the top vent panel above the door. Hope this helps!
