What is the brake and what does it do

Hi Cole, Thank you for the question. The Siphon break kit is for drain hose, it prevents drain water from siphoning back into the washer.Hope this helps!

An anti-siphon kit allows installation of washers to low standpipes and to floor drains. It prevents the siphoning of water from the washer to the drain, not water back into the washer. Correct?

We are installing our washing machine with a drain going through the upstairs floor to a drain in the basement. Where do we install this part, above the floor behind the washing machine, or below the floor before the line is entered into the sewer line. This is a “rural” installation.
