Sample Model Number Tags
Model numbers can be made up of numbers (1005400, for example) or a combination of letters and numbers (LAT1000AAE). The model number will most likely appear on either a paper sticker or a metal plate. Your appliance's model number tag may look similar to the sample model number tags shown here (model number highlighted in yellow):
This refrigerator door gasket is a genuine OEM replacement part designed to create an airtight seal around the refrigerator door, preventing warm air from entering and ensuring efficient cooling. Compatible with select models from Frigidaire, Electrolux, White Westinghouse, and Tappan, this gray gasket helps maintain optimal refrigerator performance by reducing energy loss and keeping food fresh for longer. Over time, door gaskets can wear out, leading to temperature fluctuations, increased energy consumption, and potential food spoilage. Replacing a damaged gasket can restore proper sealing and improve efficiency.
Before installation, inspect the gasket for any creases or folds that may have formed during shipping. To smooth out any irregularities, soak the gasket in warm water or use a hair dryer on low heat to gently soften the material. To replace the gasket, first remove the old one by gently pulling it away from the door. Align the new gasket along the door’s perimeter, pressing it into place and ensuring a secure fit. Once installed, close the refrigerator door and check for proper sealing to prevent air leaks.
Since refrigerator gaskets may look similar but can have slight variations in shape and size, always verify compatibility with your refrigerator model before ordering.
How Buying OEM Parts Can Save You Time and Money
Why buy the real thing?
OEM stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer. Simply put, this means that the company who made your appliance is also supplying the replacement part for it.

New gasket
First I’ve done this many times no issues. This gasket which finally fit was the worst item and first from partselect. I’ve never had such a hard time getting the gasket to stay in the groove. Softened it and everything. Had to carefully use a plastic shim inch by inch. Bad bad bad!!
