This is a water inlet valve; an electrically controlled solenoid valve that opens and closes when necessary, to control the flow of water into your washing machine during the washing cycle. This part features two different valves, one for cold and one for warm water. If your washer is having difficulty filling up properly or is not filling up at all, the inlet valves may be bad and not opening to allow water in, meaning the valve needs replacing. Replacing water inlet valves will require some disassembly of your washing machine, so a screwdriver, socket wrench, and other tools will be necessary. This water inlet valve is sold individually, and does not come with any other parts or accessories.

Very Easy level 1
The item arrived safely packed in plastic and paper stuffing. No damage to part and was about a 15 minute install. There is an odd shaped nut that I couldn't find the size for so I used a nut driver tool. I want to thank this website and the company for the easy selection based on model number and for sending the correct part. You are a life saver! Will definitely call on your help again in the future!

Threads on an inlet valve deteriorated; couldn't tighten the hot hose.
Unplug the cord and shut off hot and cold water faucets.
headache avoidance: The male threads of the inlet valve are plastic. Gently turn the female hose ends onto them at the kitchen table with the eventual position in mind then tighten.

Also, an hour should be enough. I spent more time than needed guessing, dealing with a few issues, opening the machine again, starting over, etc.

Only fill to the lowest level despite level setting
For model number HTW200ASK1WW
Hello and thank you for writing.
It certainly sounds like it could be a faulty water inlet valve PS12726768 and/or possibly a malfunctioning door lock PS12343280 you should check the part(s) for signs of damage or test with a multimeter, and replace the part(s) as needed. We hope this helps. Please contact us anytime if you require further assistance.
Hello Terri, Thank you for the question. We suggest checking the Water Pressure Hose that leads from the tub tot he Pressure Switch. Make sure there is no suds build up preventing water to pass through. If the Hose is clear, you may have a defective Pressure Switch. The Switch for this model is part of the Control Board, so the Board will need to be replaced. We hope this helps!
Does this part(AP6891106) cause the water to start filling and then stop, causing a clicking sound?
For model number GTW330ASK3WW
Hello Mark, thank you for asking! The water inlet valve controls the cold and warm water supply to the washer. If it is defective, issues related to filling the washer are likely to occur. Besides the water inlet valve, the clicking sound can happen when something gets stuck between the tub and the drum. We hope this sorts out your problem.
