The biggest burner (right front) on our Frigidaire Gas Range doesn't burn evenly and leaves black soot on the underside of the burner part and on the bottom of our cooking pans. There is concern too that this means it is emitting carbon monoxide into the air. Do you have any recommendations for how we might fix this problem? We've had this stove for 1 & 1/2 years and it worked fine until about 3 months ago. Thanks for your attention to this matter.

Hi Mary, thank you for asking. We would recommend checking the burner head for clogging due to grease. If this does not help, you may need to check the surface burner orifice holder, part number PS12718214, to fix the issue. We hope this helps, good luck with this repair!
One of the burners' flame is quite yellow and does not have the intensity when first purchased about 4 years ago. I tried cleaning it but to no avail. I did switch the two burners and the issue went away but now the yellowish flame appears on the other burner after I exchanged it. Will this problem go away if I purchased a new burner 5304521016 replacing the one that emits yellowish flame even though I've cleaned it thoroughly? Thanks!

Hi Mike,
Thank you for your question. You should have a blue flame. A yellow flame indicates that you have an improper ratio of oxygen for combustion. This may be caused by dust particles or the burner head is dirty and it will need to cleaned. Adjust the air shutter until the flame is blue. We hope this helps!

How do you adjust the air shutter? Is that something DIY able? Thanks.
For model number FGGH3047VFA
Hi Mike, thank you for contacting us. Adjusting the air shutter on a gas appliance, such as a stove or oven, is generally a task that can be done by a DIY enthusiast, but it requires caution and some basic understanding of how gas appliances work. The air shutter controls the amount of air that mixes with the gas before combustion, affecting the flame's color and efficiency.
Here are general steps to adjust the air shutter:
1. Safety First: Ensure the appliance is off and cool. Turn off the gas supply before making any adjustments.
2. Locate the Air Shutter: The air shutter is located at the base of the burner tube. You may need to remove some parts of the appliance to access it.
3. Adjust the Shutter: Loosen the screw or nut that holds the shutter in place. Adjust the shutter by opening or closing it slightly to achieve the desired flame. A proper flame should be blue with a small yellow tip.
4. Test the Flame: Turn the gas back on and ignite the burner. Observe the flame and make further adjustments if necessary. Ensure the flame is stable and mostly blue.
5. Secure the Shutter: Once the desired flame is achieved, tighten the screw or nut to secure the shutter in place.
6. Final Check: Ensure everything is reassembled correctly and the appliance is functioning properly.
If you're unsure or uncomfortable with the process, it's best to consult a professional technician to avoid any safety hazards.
We hope this helps.
