Sample Model Number Tags
Model numbers can be made up of numbers (1005400, for example) or a combination of letters and numbers (LAT1000AAE). The model number will most likely appear on either a paper sticker or a metal plate. Your appliance's model number tag may look similar to the sample model number tags shown here (model number highlighted in yellow):
This washing machine door lock is a genuine OEM safety component designed for select GE models. It secures the washer door during operation, preventing it from opening mid-cycle and ensuring safe, uninterrupted performance. By locking the door, it protects users from potential water spills and mechanical hazards while the machine is running. Constructed from durable materials, the lock is built to withstand repeated use and exposure to moisture. Installation typically involves accessing the door latch assembly and connecting the lock to the control system using standard fittings. Replacing a faulty door lock can resolve issues such as cycle interruptions, error codes, or doors that fail to latch properly.

My washer is not filling but I hear the water running, afterwards it goes to the wash cycle and does not spin, and then continues through the other cycle and then stop before the complete cycle. Throughout the cycles, the door will unlock, pause then lock and sometimes it freezes once unlocked. What is a possible solution?

My washer goes on. The door locks. Nothing happens then the door unlocks.
For model number GEW450SPKODG
Hi Helena, thank you for getting in touch. If the door locks and unlocks properly but still the washer does not start a cycle, we would recommend checking the control board, part number PS11721802, as it is most likely faulty and may need to be replaced. We hope this sorts out your problem!
My washer goes on. The door locks and engages. It sits for a minute. But no water starts. Then the door unlocks and it shuts off. Last time I used the washer, I washed towels. I went to get them out and they were still wet. I replaced the control board and it still does the same thing. Could the door lock sensor be bad?? Is there a way to reset this washer?
For model number GEW450SPKODG
Hi Helena, thank you for the question. Yes, we would recommend taking a look at the door lock, part number PS11699522, to see if it is working or not. To reset the electronic controls on your washer, shut off the circuit breaker or fuse to the washer or unplug the washer for 2 minutes. We hope this information helps!
