No water flow to ice maker
Changing the water solinoid was quick and easy but not the problem! After still not getting water to the ice maker,I took the ice maker itself out of the freezer.I could hear something small rattling arround inside the plastic housing. As I took it apart I found a tiny white piece of plastic inside the size of grain of rice.It had broken off the end of an arm that rides on a cam of the electric timer.Without that little plastic tit riding on the cam,it make the maker out of sink! I fixed it by drilling a .080 hole in the spot the piece had broken off. Then I took apart an old broken fishing reel for a screw to use in place of the broken off piece.I re-installed everything and the ice maker has been working as good as new and will hopefully out live the fridge. My solinoid is now a good spare part!! Water Dispenser Doesn't Work
Watched the video on how to repair this problem. Folowed the simple instructions and it worked. The double outlet water valve worked as it should. When I tested the water dispencer nothing came out of the spiggot on the door but water poured out all over the floor because the 5/16" water line from the replacement valve to the front of the refrigerator was brittle and cracked. I've ordered the part. Moral of the story - if your are replacing this double outlet valve, buy the water line and the union for the dispencer. You'll save yourself time, postage and effort. From the looks of it sooner or later the water line gets "cooked" and breaks/cracks.

Icemaker stopped and leaking
Repair was fairly straight forward once I diagnosed what the problem was by reading other peoples problems and repairs on here. I pulled the fridge out & disconnected the power. I shut off the water supply and disconnected it. I removed the back panel and unscrewed the bracket holding the water valve in place then disconnected the electrical connectors from the solenoids that control the valves. At this point I went on a cleaning binge to remove all dust and crud I could get into my vacuum, which is why it took me longer than others. I know it is important to keep the machinery clean so that it can run efficiently so I did it. At this point I used the hairdryer to melt the frozen inlet to the icemaker from the back of the freezer just enough so I could pull it out and remove the frozen blockage. Reinserted the inlet ensuring it was fully reseated in the opening with the foam seal snugly around it. I reinserted the tubes in their respective valve outlets (each is unique size so they cannot be done wrong), next I reassembled the new solenoid valve by reattaching the electrical connectors (mine are keyed which makes it stupid proof) then screwing its bracket back in place. Next I reconnected the water and plugged in the fridge to check for leaks. No leaks (WHEW!!) replace backplate and put fridge back in cubby. Test water dispenser- GOOD. Turn icemaker back on in "quick ice" mode and wait ~40-45 min first batch is GOOD. 5 hours later with about 6-7 batches of ice, all is well- no leaks everything is functional and I am happy.

Water in Door would not cut off. Solinoid on flap ice shute would not close. Corroded and inoperable.
The video instructions were outstanding in showing how this repair was to be completed. Follow these instructions and Job was very easy. Replaced ice shute flapper and arm, soloinoid and Micro switch for water flow control. Reassemble by reversing procedure. Follow video instructions on how to replace water control valve in back of fridge. Test water flow at bottom front of fridge and defrost flow tube in door if necessary. I used tupperware container with hot water on top of ice shute shelf in fridge door. A couple of times changing and water was flowing. Great site and detailed video instructions for an effective and cost saving self repair. I saved several service trips and service calls and labor costs of a service tect. Parts costs were also a lot cheaper than service tech would have charged. Thanks PartSelect.

no water from water dispenser
Water line to outlet water dispenser was frozen half way up the inside of freezer door. I scotch taped a bunch of plastic grocery bags on the interior left water dispenser door.I closed door with bags attached to inside door. I waited fifteen minutes and water was flowing again! First take off plastic coupler at bottom of front of refrigerator. Push plasic cup dispenser back, if water comes out of plastic tube at bottom front of refrigerator, then water valves are ok (if making ice is ok too). if light comes on at dispenser switch is ok also.

Water hose for water in door would not stay installed
Turned the water off to the refrigerator. Pulled the refrigerator away from the wall opening. Removed the back lower panel. Removed the lines to the water valve. Removed the electrical connections. Installed the water lines on the new valve and verified they would not pull out of the push in connections. Installed the electrical connections. Turned the water on and checked for leaks and proper operation. Reinstalled the back panel and positioned the refrigerator in it's proper position.
