Water leaking from water valve
Unplugged fridge, and turned off water supply. Removed cover from back of fridge, followed the plastic tube down to water valve.
I unbolted the mount holding water valve in place, removed the input tubing on top by unscrewing nut. I made a note of which outbound plastic tubing went to water dispenser, and which one went to icemaker, and which side of the water valve they plugged into, and then cut the tubing very close to the old valve.
I slid the tubing into the new water valve, and I felt it lock into place, very easy. Attached the input water line and tightened the nut.
Reattached the water valve mount to the body of the fridge, replaced cover, turned water valve back on and checked for leaks (there were none).
Plugged in fridge, tested dispenser, everything worked just fine. No leaks.

No water from the door
After gaining access to the back of the refrigerator. I shut off the water valve and pulled the electrical power plug. I removed 6 screws from the access panel. I then removed 1 screw holding the water valve. I disconnected the electrical connectors. Disconnected the water inlet tubing with an adjustable wrench. I removed the water to the door and water to the ice maker by pushing in on the collar which released the tubing. I discarded the old valve and installed it in reverse order. Did not fix the problem. My next guess is the control module.

Water dispenser not working.
Unplugged fridge, shut off water supply. Removed bottom back panel of the fridge and carefully vacuumed up all the dust. Located the water valve to the left of the compressor. It is attached to the side of the fridge by a metal bracket. Remove the screw from bracket and lift up on the whole assembly. Now I removed the electrical connectors and pushed in on the quick release tabs to pull out water lines. When installing water lines to new valve be sure to push them all the way in. The water lines are marked so you will know how far they must go in. Attached electrical connectors and remounted whole assembly back to the side of the refrigerator. Turned on water supply and plugged fridge back in. Checked water dispenser for proper operation and also checked water valve for leaks. Reattached the back cover to the fridge and that was it.

Ice Maker fill tube would freeze due to slow leak from water valve
Shut off water supply and unplugges refrigerator. Took of bottom panel on back of refrigerator. Discontected power plug and water lines from old water valve, removed water valve. Put in new water valve and reconnected water lines and power plug. Plugged refrigerator back in, turned on water supply and checked for leaks. Put cover back on. (It's also a good opportunity to clean out the dust and dirt under the fridge and around the motor and condensor)

Water spraying from pinhole in valve
I shut the water supply and took off the rear panel.
One screw released the valve. Pulled off water lines(3) and electrical connectors and installed all on new valve. Screwed the valve and the panel back and turned on the water supply. Prior instructions on website helped. Part came in two days. This part should have never failed. Looks like the housing is two parts glued together. Glue failed after 7 years. G.E. should cover this. My warranty expired after 5 years. M.K. Boca Raton,Fl.

water flowed unchecked into ice maker
Easy repair. Diagnosis was tricky - this website and popular mechanics article helped me to narrow down the problem to the solenoid water valve.
Unscrewed the left side of the back panel and unscrewed old water valve from its bracket. The steel inlet hose was easy to disconnect, as were the two electrical socket connectors. The two outlet water hoses to the refrigerator were a little trickier. You need to cut them with a blade, and insert them into the new valve, which has teeth to hold them in place. Once I figured that out, the rest was easy. I remounted the bracket, and then tested the water flow successfully. Great website, thanks for the help!

Ice maker inlet tube slow dripping caused freeze over
Unscrew the mounting screw and cut the tubes as close as you can to the valve. You cannot reuse the valve as the self sealing lock washers will be destroyed once you take out the tubes. Push the newly cut tubes into the new self sealing new valves and remount. Easy Peasy!

Water would not dispense
I turned the water off at wall. Then I removed 6 nuts removing the back cover. Removed one nut to remove the outlet water valve. Disconnected two bottom hoses and put them on the new unit. Removed top hose and installed on new unit.
When I removed the top hose water did spill out.
I had to rush to connect it to the new unit .

Water valve had frozen & broken - unrepairable
very simple repair.....push two hoses into compression fittings on the bottom, plug two wire harnesses into the back, and put a screw into the front to attach to the refridgerator frame. After that, just turn water back on and plug it in. Ran great.
Part also came in quicker than expected......which was a definate plus.
