Water would not come out of front of refrig. I maker worked fine.
Removed back panel. Cut the water lines and replaced the double outlet water valve. The only issue was the long period of time until the water flowed from the outlet. Be prepared to wait, it will take some time for the water to flow.

water continued to leak out of dispenser after use. poor water pressure.
It was as simple as taking off back panel and disconnecting 3 tubes and and two plugs to remove old valve and attaching the new valve piece to the 3 tubes and two plugs! It actually took more time getting the panel off than making the repair AND it saved us a little over $300 as the repairman quoted a price in excess of $350 to repair it. He was actually the one to tell us to buy the part ourselves and repair it. We are thankful being able to get the part and for an honest repairman.

I had no water being dispensed from the door, but had ice!
After confirming that a frozen water line was not my issue, I confidently bought this item and installed it within minutes after receiving it! It is easy to install - just close the connection to your refrigerator, open the rear lower panel, disconnect the water tubings and electrical connectors. Reverse that - you have the installation. Plug the refrigerator back on, turn the water back on for the refrigerator - and observe for any leaks. If no leaks - try dispensing water. Working great for me! My refrigerator's model is a GE, model # zfsb26dnass.

Ice maker was overflowing.
This repair is EXTREMELY easy to conduct even for the novice. The first step was to shut off the water supply at the wall, and disconnect the power cord to the refrigerator. Remove the six panel screws to remove the lower back panel. On the lower left hand side is the water valve. This is connected by only one screw, so that was removed. Compare your new valve with the one you are removing to double check that the units are the same. Disconnect the inlet water supply line and connect it to the new unit. Disconnect the two water outlet lines from the old unit and connect to the new unit. Finally, disconnect the two power plugs from the old unit and connect to the new unit. These are all colored coded or different sizes, so there is no way to fowl this up! I just recommend disconnecting and reattaching one at a time so that you are doubly assured you are doing this correct. Reattach the valve unit back onto the side of the refrigerator. At this point, I turned on the power and water supply to check for leaks. Also, have someone run the water in the ront panel dispenser to ensure things are working properly. Once that is completed, reinstall the back panel and you are done. I did this project about two weeks ago, and things are working great now. Saved a lot of time and money by doing this job myself.

Unit would make ice, but would not dispense water
Simple repair. I first shut off the water supply to the unit. I then removed back cover from lower part of the unit. The water valve is on the lower left side. I began by removing the screw on the bracket that holds the part in place. This screws into the back of the unit. I then disconnect the water line by unscrewing the fitting. Then unplugged the two electrical connections in the back of the unit. Lastly, remove the two hoses that plug into the bottom of the the unit. The installation was essentially the reverse of the the removal. The whole process took about ten minutes.

Water leaking from Water Solenoid
I went on Google to get GE Tech Manual. But really, undid screws for back plate; Dismounted (1 screw) Water Solenoid assembly; disconnected 3 water hoses into solenoid; unplug two power connectors. Then reversed the process with new Water Solenoid...works great!

Water intake to ice maker kept freezing due to slow leak in valve.
The process would have been fairly intuitive, and the part is designed in such a way that it is impossible to hook anything up to the wrong connecting point. PartSelect's on-line video of the repair was clear and easy to follow -- the perfect primer to review before I started the job. The first part I received was defective, and although it functioned it leaked water onto the floor. This gave me the opportunity to engage PartSelect's unparalleled customer service department for friendly and incredibly prompt correction. I look forward to my next appliance failure just for the pleasure of doing business with this exceptional firm.

Water constantly leaking from dispenser.
Instructions are excellent - no modifications. The problem was with determining what was causing the leak. GE, in telephone conversations, kept telling us to run several gallons of water through the system to remedy the problem, and suggesting we change the water filter (MWF). We discovered the remedy by looking through your listing of replacement water parts, till we found the commentary dealing with our problem. This is the second problem with the refrigerator solved by searching your catalogue and reviewing your demos. I'm afraid you have a customer for life (at least for the life of our GE appliances).
