Thermador Range Sensor
PartSelect Number PS8729847
Manufacturer Part Number 00642855
This temperature sensor is an OEM replacement part designed for use in ovens/ranges. The sensor detects the temperature inside the oven and relays this information to the control board, which controls the heating elements in the oven. If the sensor experiences electrical failure or mechanical damage, you will likely notice uneven cooking, inaccurate temperature readings, and difficulties heating up the oven. You can access the sensor by either removing the back panel of your appliance or by reaching through the oven/range cavity from the front. Carefully disconnect the wires attached to the sensor and pull the sensor out of the appliance. Mount the new sensor in the correct position and reconnect the wires appropriately.

Oven heating temp not turning off at set temp/overheating
Removed the wall oven to access temp probe connector strapped to the back of the oven. removed 2 screws holding probe inside the oven & replaced. Searched for the "fixing kit" thermostat part I was suggested to replace along with the probe. No thermostat type part was found in my oven, even though Bosch says it fits "somewhere". Reinstalled the wall oven & tested. The temperature is working normal now. Will return the fixing kit.

Thermador Range Temperature Sensor
PartSelect Number PS8729210
Manufacturer Part Number 00627375
This oven temperature sensor is designed to accurately measure the internal temperature of the oven cavity and relay that information to the appliance’s electronic control system for precise heat regulation. By monitoring real-time temperature changes, the sensor helps ensure consistent baking and roasting results while preventing overheating or underheating. Replacing a faulty sensor can correct issues such as inaccurate temperature readings, uneven cooking, failure to maintain the set temperature, or error codes related to temperature control. Installation typically involves accessing the sensor from inside the oven cavity, disconnecting the two-wire connector, and securing the replacement sensor in place with mounting screws after power is disconnected.

Oven does not maintain consistent temperature
Remove slide racks from oven. At the back right corner of oven unscrew heat sensor probe. Access rear of range. Remove screws holding back panel. Find wire from temperature probe where it passes through back wall of over and unclip it pulling probe wire and probe out back of oven. From the inside of oven, push chopstick through hole probe wire was routed through, to find hole in back wall of oven. Once chopstick is visible from back of oven, with chopstick enlarge hole through visible insulation. This is the opening the new probe wire needs to be routed through. From inside oven push new wire, using chopstick, through this hole and reattach wire at back of oven using the plastic clip on the wire. From inside oven screw probe to back of oven wall, reattach outside panel to back of oven, turn gas back on, plug range back in, check oven operates, and push range back in place, reinstall racks. You may have to remove oven door if you have trouble reaching to the back of the oven to access the probe. YouTube videos are easy to find showing how to do that.
