78 Reviews
PartSelect Number PS884734
Manufacturer Part Number 8009
This an authentic OEM 40-Watt replacement light bulb, used in a number of household appliances. It is specially designed to withstand extreme temperatures, which is why these replacement bulbs are most often used to light the inside of refrigerators and ranges. It features a standard socket base, which means you simply unscrew the burnt-out bulb and screw in the replacement. Depending on the appliance you may require a screwdriver or nut driver to access the light bulb. We recommend you wear work gloves while handling this replacement part. It is constructed of glass and metal and is sold individually. Depending on the appliance and location of the bulb within it, you may want to consider disconnecting power and using a flashlight for easier access to unscrewing and re-screwing in your bulb during this repair.

This microswitch, also known as a safety switch, is a genuine OEM replacement part for use in microwaves. It is a highly sensitive switch which responds to slight changes in pressure or position, and ensures that the microwave only operates when the door is shut. The switch can fail due to physical damage or electrical failure, resulting in difficulties closing the door, and turning on the appliance. If your gas oven is not heating at all, or not heating properly the most commonly problem is a faulty igniter. The bake igniter is used in gas overs and ranges, the element in the igniter gets hot enough to ignite the gas that lights the oven burner. This bake igniter assembly features a wire harness and push-on wire terminal ends for easy installation. Handle this replacement part with care, do not touch the element inside the igniter as it is very fragile. Before you replace this part make sure you have unplugged your oven and shutoff the gas supply.

Thermador Range Sensor
PartSelect Number PS8729847
Manufacturer Part Number 00642855
This temperature sensor is an OEM replacement part designed for use in ovens/ranges. The sensor detects the temperature inside the oven and relays this information to the control board, which controls the heating elements in the oven. If the sensor experiences electrical failure or mechanical damage, you will likely notice uneven cooking, inaccurate temperature readings, and difficulties heating up the oven. You can access the sensor by either removing the back panel of your appliance or by reaching through the oven/range cavity from the front. Carefully disconnect the wires attached to the sensor and pull the sensor out of the appliance. Mount the new sensor in the correct position and reconnect the wires appropriately.

Oven heating temp not turning off at set temp/overheating
Removed the wall oven to access temp probe connector strapped to the back of the oven. removed 2 screws holding probe inside the oven & replaced. Searched for the "fixing kit" thermostat part I was suggested to replace along with the probe. No thermostat type part was found in my oven, even though Bosch says it fits "somewhere". Reinstalled the wall oven & tested. The temperature is working normal now. Will return the fixing kit. Read more...

Four extra Low burner igniters malfunctioned, Sparking when burner off.
The sole review for this part by Andrew was most helpful and accurate with one exception: he said that there were two nuts Which needed to be removed in order to pull off the front knob panel. There were actually two on each end for a total of four, which confused me, as I wondered if I had the right ones. Another thing that would be helpful for somebody considering doing this repair is to know that it takes a deep quarter inch socket With two 6 inch extensions to reach these nuts through holes in the interior side panels. Also, take a look at the replacement potentiometers, and you’ll see that there’s a slot that can be lined up so that they can be pulled off the side of the shaft rather than off the front of the shaft. This repair took me about six hours. I’m mechanically inclined and work methodically, but since I’ve never done this repair before it was quite time-consuming. Read more...

Thermador Range Heater-element
PartSelect Number PS8704893
Manufacturer Part Number 00367648
This OEM heater element, or bake element, is approximately 22 inches wide and generates heat in your oven for cooking and baking. It is commonly located at the bottom of the oven. The element is secured to a bracket with two screws and connects to the power source. You may suspect a faulty element if your oven cooks food unevenly or fails to heat up. If the element has breaks, bulges, or holes in the heating coil, it needs to be replaced. To check if it has shorted out, use a multimeter in continuity mode or the lowest ohms setting. Touch the probes to the wire terminals. A functioning element should cause the multimeter to beep or display a reading of approximately 10 to 75 ohms. To replace the element, start by shutting off the oven at the circuit breaker and unplugging the appliance. Open the oven door and pull out the racks. Unthread the screws at the back of the oven using a screwdriver. Gently pull the element out to access the wiring behind it, ensuring not to pull out any insulation or lose the wires in the insulation or behind the stove. Please keep in mind that this replacement part does not come with any accompanying hardware.

Random igniter sparking and burner light always on.
The seriously tough parts of this job is removing the five Venturi Tubes that hold the burners in place and the cooktop surface down. One had corroded badly so the brass nut (it is the venturi tub itself) have to be removed by drilling. Luckily, the other four unscrewed.

This resulted in needing to replace the venturi tube and its holder. Easy once you have access. Internal cooktop pieces are super simple and easy to install.

CLUE - It you must replace a Venturi Tube - you cannot find one to purchase. You must buy the full "Repair-Set" (kit comes with 6 tubes). Bosch (Thermador) Part Number 11016284.
