For the gaskest ,how do you stick the gasket onto the refridgerator door?Is glue already on the gasket ?
For model number pss26sgpass

Hi Juan, thank you for your question. You would press a flap on the gasket into the groove on your door to install this part. This video here may help you with the installation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PuE_gu0CuK8. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

I am having problems with the ice melting into a clump. Every thing else seems to be frozen properly, could this be a door seal issue?
For model number PSS26MSTD SS

Hello Randal, thank you for inquiring. Replacing this Freezer Door Gasket part number PS8758486 for your model may fix the issue, but it is more likely due to a faulty Temperature Sensor, part number PS304103 that is making the freezer a little too warm. I hope this helps and good luck with your repair!

Is the freezer gasket piece the same as the refrigerator seal that goes around the inside of the door. We are having troubles with the refrigerator closing properly from that black seal inside. It is throwing the temps off making the freezer colder and the refrigerator hotter. This part says freezer door gasket but i am looking for the refrigerator black inside seal that seals the door when closed.
For model number GSS25GSHGCSS

Hi Stephanie, thank you for your question. Your freezer gasket and fridge gasket are two different parts. I have linked the part information for the fridge gasket down below for you. You may need to replace your freezer gasket if it has warped and is now giving you trouble with closing the door. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

Worn out gasket on freezer
I received part. I then used a hair dryer to smooth out kinks. Took about 15 minutes. Pulled off old gasket and replaced with new one. Used hands only.

Freezer Gasket was torn in some spots, freezer had condensation inside and could not maintain zero degree temperature.
Ordered gasket. Laid out gasket near sunlit window untangled and flat on carpet for 24 hours to insure it was pilable and correct shape. Removed the old gasket manually easily without any tools and cleaned the door's seal groove with a paper towel slightly soaked with Simply Green. Installed new gasket starting at the upper corners then inserting upper edge by tilting the gasket toward the inside of the door with my fingers. Then installed the lower corners along with the bottom edge. Proceeded installing the side edge working from the set corners inserting the gasket's inner tongue into the door groove with my fingers again tilting the gasket inside the door. Once the gasket was installed, I closed the door and guided my fingers along the gasket to insure the magnetic edge formed a firm seal. This is wear the DIY videos suggested applying petroleum jelly but I did not need it since the gasket was pliable enough. Overall, the effort took 15 minutes because I think laying out the gasket for 24 hours allowed it to settle into its desired form..

Gasket in excellent condition. Works perfectly
Appreciated user comment suggestion to layout the gasket 24 hours before installation. Helped straightening out the gasket from storage and shipping kinks by resting it on the floor under a sun lit window. Manuel installation was simple without tools ensuring the magnetic strip provided a firm seal when the door closed. Used my gloved fingers to check the gasket fitted and expanded properly. Removing old gasket and Installation time was only 15 minutes.

Easy install, GE original part.
Comes in a box. It's folded over but not creased. I followed directions about heating it up before installing. I have a large black truck so I laid it on the hood out in the sun. It took 5 mins to install. Not one single problem It's exactly the same as the original and my freezer door fits tight again.

Correct part, terrible packaging
Received the part.. it's what I needed but it was all folded up in the bottom of the box. Just a door gasket but because it was all folded up, it got creases in it and now won't sit flush in the seal channel.. so of course the door won't seal. Disappointed to say the least..

October 17, 2018
Hello Aaron, Thank you for the question. We suggest soaking the gasket in warm water or heating with a hair dryer before installing. This will remove any creases and allow the gasket to seal. Hope this helps!
