Introducing the genuine LG Thermistor Assembly PTC: a compressor overload protector designed to safeguard your refrigerator and enhance its longevity. This assembly operates by promptly shutting off the compressor when it detects an excessive current, thus preventing any possible damage. It is advised to store perishable food in a safe place and unplug your refrigerator before installing this essential component. Also, remember to don work gloves during this process for optimal hand protection. Despite similar appearances, components may come with minor size and shape differences, so it is crucial to ensure this part fits your LG model.

Hi Richard, Thank you for the question. I suggest testing the Thermistor, Part Number: PS8751178., If the thermistor is good you may need to replace the Main Board, PartSelect Number PS11732700. The Main Board manages the functions of the refrigerator such as cooling and defrost times. Hope this helps!

I’m get f dh code a lot. It says that the defroster isn’t defrosting. My fridge is slowly building heat and I power down for 2 min every other day to try and fix this. Will this potentially resolve my issue? I’m having a difficult time finding the parts to replace to resolve this issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello David,Thank you for the question. This is most likley an issue with the defrost cycle. The defrost in this model is controlled by the Main Control Board Assembly, PartSelect Number PS11710916. The board might need to be replaced. Hope this helps, good luck with this repair!
Refrigerator is cold, freezer only goes down to 21F and does NOT make ice. No noise, no fan/vent blockage, doors are closed/sealed. Been this way for 2+ months. Very steady, no extremes, just not freezing (Ice Cream doesn't get hard, is soupy)

Nothing is cold just quit cooling all at once. Hacked compressor with multi meter and only have continuity on two poles it has a linear compressor so that shows it should be good unplugged it and left it unplugged for several minutes when plugged it back in there was a definite pop at the plug. What next plz?

Hi Michael, thank you for reaching out. It appears that your refrigerator may have a damaged compressor overload protector, part number PS8751178. It shuts off the compressor to protect it from damage if the compressor motor draws too much current. We would recommend checking the overload protector to solve the issue. We hope this helps, good luck with this repair!
