This replacement worked first try.
The old part (fifteen years old) was shredded. Plastic chips everywhere. The replacement slid into place and everything worked immediately. No need to spend $700 on that new washer. Sure this one is a bit dirty. I mean filthy when you take the panel off. A real mess. But I will do some cleaning to save $600. A lot of cleaning. The pivot part of this: I was able to identify the part and order it online. Reasonable price. (How do they keep all these parts in inventory? It must be hundreds of thousands of parts!) Washer stopping during cycles
First, I removed the control knob by pulling it out and then used needle nosed pliers to pull the plastic retainer clip from the back side of the knob and then slid it off. I then removed the large dial knob by simply pulling it off. Next, I removed the 4 torx head screws holding on the front control panel and the whole panel came off (the 4 screws are on the top side of the panel towards the rear). I then removed the connector block from the timer mechanism and then removed the single hex nut screw which holds the timer in place. There are two plastic tabs on the bottom of the timer which fit into slots on the panel. You can simply lift the old timer mechanism out by pulling it up and out. The new timer is installed by doing this in reverse. You then tighten the hex screw and then put the connector back on the new timer. You can then put the panel back in place and put back the 4 screws taken out earlier. Next, you push the indicator dial onto the timer shaft (lining up the notch in the dial with the tab on the timer shaft). Finally, you pull the retainer clip on the control knob partially out, push the knob on the timer shaft and then using a screwdriver, push the retainer clip into place and then push the control knob all the way onto the timer shaft.

Just followed your instructions,which were very good and simple.Took old one off then put the Knob Dial on and it clicked right on..Very,Very easy

Dial broke off knob. Knob stripped.
Too easy! Push on dial, push on knob, insert clip. Done. Back in the day a repairman would have probably sold me a new timer with that knob and dial!
