This is a replacement timer knob for your washing machine. To complete this repair you will need a pair of needle nose pliers. Turn off power to the washer before you start. Pull off the timer knob and use your pliers to remove the retaining clip. The new knob will already have a clip in place. Line up the knob opening with the shaft and slide it on.

Hello!!
the outer knob will not spin the dial to start the machine. i have to manually turn the dial ring then push down the timer knob to get the washing machine to start. do i need to replace the knob or could it just be the clip?
thanks!!!
For model number WLSR2200JW33
Hello Rebecca, thank you for your question. You can check the clip to see if it is loose or broken. However, the best thing to do would be to replace the timer knob PartSelect Number PS1482286 which comes with a new clip. I hope this helps!

When I push in timer knob it doesn’t engage. It just spins around when you turn it. Could you tell me what part or parts i need? Thank you.
For model number GHWP1000M2WW
Hello Ron, Thank you for the question. If there is no visible damage to the knob or dial, I suggest replacing the Timer Switch, PartSelect Number PS3506805. Thank you for your inquiry, good luck with this repair!
When i removed the broken timer control knob, the spindle it attaches to came out in the knob. How is the spindle replaced or re-attached? Thanks.
For model number WJRR4170GWW
Hello Clark,
Thank you for your question. The spindle cannot be reattached, you would need to replace it by replacing the timer switch for your model under part PS1482380 to fix the issue. Hope this helps!
GE washing machines works but i have to advance the cycles myself. How will i know if it's the entire timer or just the knob that needs to be replaced?
For model number WDRR2500K4WW
Hello Maribel, thank you for your question. If you have to advance the cycles yourself, the timer should be replaced. That is PartSelect Number: PS3406192. Please enter the part number into the site for current price and availability. Good luck with your repair!

Control knob teeth were worn
I spoke to a very nice young ladie who took my order and I received my order within two days. I pull the clasp off of the old knob and replace the knob and the clasp with the new part and it now works great. Thank you for helping me find the part I needed.

Control knob stripped
The teeth on the control knob were broken off (not sure how it happened). the teeth on the stem of the knob turn the selector dial. To replace the control knob, I used a pair of needle nose pliers to remove the pin clip and pulled the knob off. The new control knob came with the clip already installed on the stem of the knob. It was a matter of pushing the new knob onto the shaft . . . and the rest is history.

Dial broke off knob. Knob stripped.
Too easy! Push on dial, push on knob, insert clip. Done. Back in the day a repairman would have probably sold me a new timer with that knob and dial!
Timer on the washing machine wasn't working properly. Just spinning around not catching to set wash cycle
I found Partselect and searched for what I needed. Wasn't quite sure I had the right timer, so I called and gave them the model number and they did a search and found the right one. I ordered the part online and a few days later the parts were delivered to me. The timer fit right in and looked just like the origninal. Within 30 mins. washer was back in service. Another washer we have on the property wasn't agitating correctly. After taking off the agitator ( by pulling straight up from the bottom ) I found that the coggs on the agitator hub were all worn out. I removed the center screw from the shaft and pulled the old hub off. Installed the new one ordered from Partselect and washwer was back up and running in no time.
remove back screws to control panel. unplug timer. pull bad timer out. snap new timer in plug in connector. reattach screws to control panel. put knob on timer
removed control knob and dial with compression ring from front panel using 1/4in. nut driver removed 3 screws from rear of panel again using nut driver removed old washer timer unplugged wiring harness and reversed assembly took about 8 min.
Gear teeth stripped out on both timer knob & timer.
Super EZ repair. The replacement parts were spot on perfect. I removed 3 screws, slid the panel off, removed a wiring harness, the reversed the procedure. I used a set of needle nose pliers to slip the locking ring on the knob, and Bob's your uncle, all done.
opened the top part of washer where the dials are. Took out the old washer timer, inserted the new and replaced the knob and clip on the outside. Works like new.
Part Select inclusion of parts diagram helped determine which part was broken, and how to disassemble just what was necessary. I was planning to open up the control panel to get inside, which was not necessary. Assembly was simple for the same reason. Sometimes, it does help to read the "manual" first....

I was not sure I could replace this nob myself but it was worth a try. I received the part in a few days and watched the video and voila. I repaired my 14 year old washer. And I did not need my son to come over and take care of it for me
