What does the float switch do in the above model?l It does not seem to appear in any similar model or make. I suspect that it limits the level water in the tub to prevent overfill or ???. Obviously not a problem in other models.
If it isn't working properly what problem does it create?
Our dish washer does not drain under any command, but seems to operate through any wash setting, but sump has water in it at the completion, ie blue light on.
The drain line is mounted correctly - top loop above discharge connection to sewer pipe. I cannot decide what needs to be fixed, whether drain valve or drain pump so have not checked anything as yet!
For model number EWDW6505GS0B
Hi Tim, thank you for reaching out. As the dishwasher tub fills, a float rises with the water. Once it reaches a predetermined safety level, it triggers the switch to shut off the water inlet valve, preventing the tub from overfilling and leaking onto your floor. If the float switch is malfunctioning, it typically creates one of two problems: either it will not fill at all or it will start overfilling. For the drainage issue, we would suggest checking the drain hose and filter for blockage first. If they are fine, the issue could be with the drain pump, part number PS2367927. You may need to replace it to fix the issue. We hope this solves your problem!
