Sample Model Number Tags
Model numbers can be made up of numbers (1005400, for example) or a combination of letters and numbers (LAT1000AAE). The model number will most likely appear on either a paper sticker or a metal plate. Your appliance's model number tag may look similar to the sample model number tags shown here (model number highlighted in yellow):
This genuine OEM lid lock and striker is designed for washing machines. The lid lock comes with the wiring harness and striker, which is a small plastic piece attached to the lid of the washing machine. When the lid is closed, the striker aligns with and engages a corresponding latch on the washing machine. The lid lock mechanism prevents the washer from starting or operating while the lid is open. This is important for safety reasons, as opening the lid during operation could lead to injuries or damage to the machine. If the lid lock mechanism is damaged or faulty, the lid will be unable to lock and the washer may not start, or it may stop running mid cycle. It is important to address any faults promptly to avoid further damage or safety hazards.

is there a way to disable the lid lock switch
For model number htw240ask6ws
Hello Brad, Thank you for contacting us. We are very sorry but we do not know of a way to disable the lid lock switch as the control board needs to check the lock function and often will not start the washer unless it detects the lid is locked. If you are having issues with the washer lock, it may be an issue with either the switch or the control board. We hope this helps.
