Great Service! Exact part needed
I ordered the part, a latch for a GE microwave door, specified "standard (fast) shipping" and received the part the next day. I was very pleased with the price of the part and the exceptional, fast service. I will certainly check with PartSelect for future appliance parts needs.

Part was as expected
The prongs of the old latch were slightly skewed toward the microwave interior, perhaps because someone in my family likes to slam doors of every kind. The microwave would intermittently trip the breaker upon startup, and I thought that perhaps good contact was no longer being made with the microswitch by the lower prong. It is working fine now.

Easy fix for a very expensive micro wave
The door latch was easy to install and the price was right. I could not have bought a cheap micro wave for cheaper than I fixed my expensive one. Great product, fast shipping, the right part the first time, and a great company.

Mirowave door latch
While installing a filter in my brand new never been used microwave range hood combo I snapped off the top door latch with my elbow. After a few expletives I search You Tube and found it was a simple fix. I ordered a replacement latch from this site. It arrived in three days and it took 5 minutes to fix.

How do i open the inside of the door to replace the latch ?
For model number GE model JVM3160DF3WW
Hello Jim, thank you for your question. To replace the latch, the inner door panel, or choke cover as they call it on our site, must be removed. In order to remove the choke cover so you can gain access to you will need to use a putty knife. Start at one side along the inside of the lining around the window edge and gently put the putty knife between the door lining and the door to release the tabs holding it place. The side where the door is hinged, you will need to pry the lining lose from the back side. Once this is complete you can remove the inner lining. I hope this helps!
