Model numbers can be made up of numbers (1005400, for example) or a combination of letters and numbers (LAT1000AAE). The model number will most likely appear on either a paper sticker or a metal plate. Your appliance's model number tag may look similar to the sample model number tags shown here (model number highlighted in yellow):
This water inlet valve is a genuine replacement part designed to control the flow of water to the refrigerator’s ice maker and water dispenser. It operates by opening and closing in response to signals from the control system, ensuring a steady and controlled water supply. Common issues resolved by replacing this component include a non-functioning ice maker, water dispenser problems, or leaks. Installation typically involves disconnecting power and water supply, removing the old valve, and securing the new one in place for reliable performance.
How Buying OEM Parts Can Save You Time and Money

Hello Jim, thank you for reaching out. We have concluded that the issue is with the water filter housing, part number PS11773022. We would recommend replacing it to solve the problem. It holds the water filter and connects the water lines to the water filter. We hope this helps.
What resistance should I see on the water inlet valve coil? I believe my inlet valve may be faulty because it’s over filling the ice machine. I’m reading .813k ohms across the coil.
For model number KRFC704FPS01
Hi Dan, Thank you for writing. Your multitester should display a reading between 200 and 500 ohms. Closely examine your water inlet valve. The exact ohm resistance rating you should test for may be marked on the valve. We hope this helps!
Does this model have 2 water valves? Is there one on the door as well as one in the back?
For model number krfc604FSS01
Hello Ronnie, Thank you for your inquiry. Researching the model number that you have provided, there are two water inlet valves. Part# PS16555249 is the dual water inlet valve in the refrigerator liner near the water filter, and PS12711454 is a single water inlet valve at the back of the refrigerator and is the primary water inlet valve. We hope this helps.
OK, I HAVE REPLACED THE BACK WATER VALVE AT THE BOTTOM, WHERE IS THE OTHER ONE? IS IT THE SAME VALVE? IS IT AT THE TOP OF THE LEFT DOOR?
For model number krfc604Fss01
Hello Ronnie, Thank you for your inquiry. Researching the model number that you have provided, the other valve is a dual water inlet valve, part# PS16555249, that is located behind a cover inside the refrigerator liner, it is not at the top of the left door. You have to remove the cover at the back of the refrigerator liner below the water filter to access the valve. Good luck with your repair.
