Machine doesn't spin 98% of the time and the lid stays locked. Tested actuator and it reads 1700 ohms. is the actuator the problem? Thanks
For model number MVWP575GW1
Hello Johnny, Thank you for contacting us. Most shift actuators will test for resistance between 2000 and 3500 ohms and if it is not testing between that range, then it may be faulty and should be replaced. We would also recommend checking the drive pulley and drive motor as well. We hope this helps.
Maytag washing machine goes into fail state after noise in drain cycle. How can we test the shift actuator to see if that is actually the issue? The noise is a woop woop woop. Then just stops and lid light blinks red.

Hi Sharlene, Thank you for the question. You will need to check for Error codes. You can locate the tech sheet on the inner top left corner of the cabinet and follow the instructions provided to check for error codes. It will give you a page on testing components regarding the error code. We hope this helps!
