Sample Model Number Tags
Model numbers can be made up of numbers (1005400, for example) or a combination of letters and numbers (LAT1000AAE). The model number will most likely appear on either a paper sticker or a metal plate. Your appliance's model number tag may look similar to the sample model number tags shown here (model number highlighted in yellow):
This dual infinite surface element switch regulates the heat output of an electric cooktop burner by controlling the voltage supplied to the heating element, allowing smooth adjustment from low simmering to high-heat cooking. Designed to power burners with both an inner and outer heating ring, it lets you select either the smaller inner ring for everyday use or both rings when additional cooking surface and heat are needed. Rated for 15 amps at 240 volts, this switch helps maintain consistent temperature performance. Replacing a worn switch can resolve issues such as a burner that won’t heat, heats inconsistently, responds unpredictably to knob adjustments, or shows signs of electrical problems like buzzing or intermittent power. Installation typically involves disconnecting the appliance from power, accessing the control panel, and transferring the wiring to the new switch.
How Buying OEM Parts Can Save You Time and Money

One of the surface controls went out on my unit! The problem is the one that went out is the top switch which has ultra high and ultra low on the settings. I don't know which control on your diagram to order or are all these controls on this unit the same. Is this what they call infinite control. Bob

The "power on" light(just above the "hot surface" light near to the bottom burner knob) is on all of the time, even when there is no burner turned on. Why is this? This situation just started a couple of days ago.
For model number KECC604BSS
Hello Robert, Thank you for the question. Normally this is caused by a defective Infinite Switch. The switch that controls the element also controls the light. Hope this helps, good luck with this repair!
