Burner Knob - Stainless Color Specifications

This stainless burner knob is used in ranges and ovens. The knob allows you to adjust the heat of the surface burner on your range. This knob accepts a D-shaped shaft. If your touchpad does not respond, the knob does not rotate, gets stuck, or the gas igniter glows but does not light, changing out this part can solve your problem. No tools are needed for this easy replacement. Make sure to unplug your range from the power source before installing. Refer to the manual provided by the manufacturer for further guidance.

The knob does not go down; it sticks up too high. Question? Maybe knob is not for position 2. Does it matter which place you put it on?
I tried to put knob on number 2 location. Looks like I need number 1 knob.

Ignitors with VERY weak sparks (2 Burners)
Should have read the partselect instructions first 1.) unplugged range 2.) unscrewed (torque screws - good thing I had some) burners - one screw was corroded into the top and snapped - will require a drill to remove and replace metal screw. 3) slid electrical wire from contact 4.) unscrewed (with phillips) Burner Electrode assembly (also corroded - took some force) replaced electrode assy and reversed steps. Works perfect.

Shafts on burner knobs had split.
I thought I had ordered metal knobs but it appears that I got plastic ones. I’m thinking they’ll be fine, the others had just split the shaft that sits on the control stem, but I’m hoping this won’t happen again. I do have a repair question regarding one of the sealed burners on my Jenn-Air. The igniter switch sounds like it’s working but the burner won’t light without putting a match to it. Do you have any ideas of what could be wrong?
Thanks for your help,

electrode clicked but failed to light burner
I first tried to remove the torx screws only to have them break off..soooo as with most home repairs it grew into a bigger task. 1) unhooked the gas line and unplugged the unit 2) place the unit upside down on workbench 3) used a socket set to remove the hex screws that held the top on 4)removed all the other burners and disconnected electrical wire connected to the igniters. 5) Removed the top 6) uses pliers to remove the screw parts left in the burner base (wd-40 and lock wrench)..Replaced the old gaskets 7) put the top back on and screwed the top back on (make sure you pull the igniter wires through the top before securing it) 8) Reseat and screw in the burners using a torx bit

Being dumb enough to buy Jenn-Air appliances
I removed the old knob and replaced with a new one from the plastic package. Biggest challenge: opening the new plastic package. It if very nice to know you have many of the parts I will need over the next 20 years.
