My compactor handle is broken. Model number D53959869 Hobart. Do you have a handle for it?
For model number D53959869

Hi Raymond,
Thank you for your question. We were unable to bring the model number either on our website or our resource sites. This number looks more like a serial number than a model number. Here is a link from our website that you may reference on where to find the model number on your appliance, https://www.partselect.com/Model-Number-Locator+10+repair.htm. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

I ordered a handle for Frigidaire trash compactor.... after ordering, I noticed the color would be brown, which I want black. So, then I read some comments and someone else ordered the same part and expected brown, but got black? They were happy because they preferred black. now I’m hoping my handle will be black, even though the part is listed as brown.... I’m really happy to get this part, no matter what color, since the compactor is really a relic that keeps chugging along!

Both parts needed replacing. Could not find a replacement until you.
Pulled out old screws. Replaced with new screws.
Very easy.
Cannot thank you enough. Sears said the parts were not made anymore. We were upset as rest of compactor was fine, but we had a torn guard and a cracked handle. Price of a new compactor was a fortune. But thanks to you. LEss than $50 good as new.
Someone needs to tell sears they are really missing out. You had a shelf we needed about 4 months ago and it was exactly what we needed,so we knew if anyone could help us it would be you. You were right on.
Thank you so much

Cracked plastic handle on Trash Compactor
Replacement handle fit perfectly, removed the old one by taking out two screws. I was glad that the part was still available, although a little pricey, because the unit has to be at least 25-30 years old or more.

Broken plastic handle
Someone pulled a Conan on the compactor handle and broke it loose--no one admitted doing it but I have my suspicions. Since the compactor was installed during the first Bush administration, I assumed that the part would be unavailable. I tried to glue it with the latest "super" bond epoxy/space shuttle goop and it would not hold. A friend tried to plastic weld the crack--it worked until Conan showed up again and ripped it loose. I was ready to look for a new compactopr but since it had an insert that matched the custom cabinets--that I knew would not fit on a new unit--I looked on the internet for a part.

Broken handle
Removed 2 screws, pulled out old handle, inserted new drawer handle and replaced the 2 screws.
The drawer handle that was delivered was black and not brown. Black was the preferred color because the old handle was black.

We had a newly cracked handle on a 36 year old trash compactor.
Took under 5 minutes to unscrew old handle and screw on the new one. Identical part to old handle, compactor looks and works like new!

Broken handle
Unscrewed old one. Slide new one in. Screwed in two screws. Done. The handle ended up being black, even though the part was listed as brown.... that is good, because the original part was black.
So glad you had the part. It was pricey, but way less than a new trash compactor!

broken handle
It is held on with three screws. The PartSelect was the only web site that showed me a picture of the part I wanted. The other web sites said it was no longer made. It was shipped out the day I ordered it, and took a minute to install it. Will order again from your company - great service - thanks.

Handle had cracked
So impressed with this Company. Was about to buy new trash compactor, because we couldn't find a handle for an old Frigidair. Found website and on Friday ordered part (only $57...a new compactor would have cost $800). Part arrived ONE DAY LATER and was immediately easily installed by taking out old part which involved unscrewing it and installing the new one using the existing screws. THANK YOU.

Easy Repair!
The part came so fast! Fit perfectly and installation was quick and easy! My compactor is just like new and it’s 15 years old! Simple online ordering and great customer support! Definitely recommend this great website!

The part fit perfectly
The part fit perfectly; however, I wisj it was available in colors other than brown. We have a white compactor and the brown handle really sticks out. I am going to try to paint it and see what happens.
Amy R - December 26, 2018

Perfect fit, for a great repair!
It would have been so much better if it wasn't so expensive. I have an older compactor and this is the 3rd handle I have put on because of the way it is made. I would have ordered a few more, but at $86, this Special Ed teacher can't afford it. :)

Barbara W - July 22, 2018

handle
handle was in good condition easy to install part was easy to order just what we needed perfect color the order said it was brown it is black you should fix that that people might not buy it if it was brown. It was expensive but worth it.
