Unit run but won't heat. How do i check (ohm) the multi-temperature cycling thermostat - 4 terminals part number: Ps11741406. It measures 0.1 ohms across the outside terminals and and 0.1 ohms from one inside terminal to one outside terminal and open in all other directions (at room temp).
For model number May Tag DE 7400
Hello Keith, thank you for writing. When testing the Cycling Thermostat with a multimeter for continuity, do so while the part is sitting at room temperature. If it has continuity, it is functional, and if not, it is faulty and needs to be replaced. You may also want to consider the Limit Switch, part number PS2086183. Good luck with your repair!

What should the resistance be across the 2 smaller terminals of this part at room temperature. I am measuring 28,070 ohms on mine.
For model number Maytag MDE600AYW
Hello Gary, thank you for asking. According to our research, the resistance of the cycling thermostat would normally be between 5K and 10K. It does sound like if it is at 25K then it is defective and would need to be replaced. We hope this helps!
