      No spin cycle
Popped-off the trim disc in the center of the timer knob to expose the locking clip. Then used a small screwdriver to pop it off. Then carefully removed the knob (careful, there's a spring inside). With the knob removed, you now have access to the two bolts that hold the timer in place. Removed them. Removed the screws that fasten the control panel and flipped it down and forward. Disconnected the wiring harness from the timer. Then reinstalled the new timer in the reverse order of disassembly. Viola'!

Timer was worm out and failed to work properly.
After unplugging the washer and removing the drain line I was able to pull the washer away from the wall. This provided access the top of the washer. On top of the washer machine I removed four philips screws which released the control panel. From the control panel I removed a lock washer from the timer stem, which permitt the knobs to be removed and exposed the two nutscrews which hold the timer in place. I removed the wiring harness plug from the timer and then the two nutscrews and the timer was free from the control panel.

This entire process was reversed for assembly of the new timer.

The washer is running like a new one now.

Washer would not advance through the cycles properly.
First, using a phillips head screwdriver, I removed the four screws on the top of the control panel and tilted it forward to access the timer. Next, I removed the button on the face of the control knob and removed the retaining clip. Next, I unscrewed the screws holding the timer on the control panel using a nutdriver. I then pulled the wire harness off of the broken timer and discarded it. I then plugged the wire harness into the new timer, placed the new timer back in place and secured it with the two screws. I then tilted the front panel back up into place and secured it with the four screws. Finally, I replaced the knob, retaining clip, and cover. The washer works like it is brand new! Gotta love a good ol' Maytag!!!!! It was easy and I'm a girl!
