Rattling noise when turn table was in motion

Unplug any appliance before any work is done. The microwave is a hanging unit under kitchen cabinets. First I removed the turn table, rollers, and connector by lifting them out. Second I removed all the attaching Phillips head screws that hold the bottom cover on. Once removed the cover will hang and give access to the drive motor gear assembly. It's held in place by 2 torques head screws. Remove these, lower the motor, and disconnect the 2 wires that plug onto it. A small pick or similar tool is needed to release the connectors latches. reassemble in reverse. Read more...

The motor is typically located below the floor of the oven, and is accessed through the bottom. The motor is normally held in place with a retaining screw and will have two wires attached to it as well. If the motor is making a grinding noise it will need to be replaced. If the motor does not turn, you can check for voltage or continuity with a multi-meter. Make sure the power is disconnected from your microwave before beginning this repair.

My 8 year old daughter cleaned the inside of the microwave with enough water to rival a tsunami. Resulted in a clean microwave with a fried out motor that no longer revolved. Part came quickly. Replace broken turntable coupler and motor

Unplug micro, Remove 6 bottom pan screws, remove pan. Remove 1 screw holding motor, slide motor over and down, and unplug.
Remove coupler upward, slide of center to remove.
Install new coupler, insert motor in coupler slide in place and install screw.
