Frigidaire Cooktop Surface Element - 8 Inch 2600w
★★★★★
★★★★★

PartSelect Number PS2339242
Manufacturer Part Number 316442301
The range surface element provides heat to the cooking surface on top of the range. The element has a universal plug, is 8 inches in diameter, spans 5 coils in width and reaches 2600 watts. Before you begin your repair, ensure that the elements are turned off and have had time to cool. Once you have removed the element this is a good time to ensure the terminal is in good condition (they can wear over time) which may need to be replaced as well. This quick repair requires no tools except gloves for safety, and a small amount of time.

If the burner element on your range will not heat up, or is damaged, it may need to be replaced. This part is 8 inches in diameter, and should not be confused with the smaller 6-inch model. The part is 220 Volts and 4 Turn. The burner element connects to the terminal block inside the range. To do this repair, simply remove the old surface element and replace it with the new part. This product is sold individually. As the surface element is hot when it is on, be sure to unplug the range from the power source before completing this repair.

Frigidaire Cooktop 6-inch Coil Burner Element

PartSelect Number PS2368974
Manufacturer Part Number 318372211
This element is a genuine OEM replacement part, has looped terminal ends, comes with a black medallion center, and fits most electric ranges. All burners are made of a heating wire that produces heat from electricity. Remove the non-functional burner element from the terminal block (or receptacle). Use a multi-meter to check for continuity. Check the end of the terminals for corrosion or heat damage. If there is corrosion or heat damage, replace the whole terminal block or receptacle at the same time you replace the damaged coil. Before you start this repair, make sure that the element is turned off and cool to the touch.

Burners on 53 year old range kept going out
When we bought our home less than a year ago, we had three functional burners on our 40" wide 50's classic Kelvinator (not close to standard size these-a-days). After a few months of use, two more burners went out for good and we were stuck using the back left burner for all of our cooking. I opted for the premium burners and made sure to compare my terminals with the ones online to be sure they mounted the same. I removed the burners and terminals, clipped the wires going into the terminals, and removed the top of the stove. I followed the directions that came with the new terminals, pushed in the new burners and viola! All four burners now work. I gave the stove a general cleaning and now my 1954 Kelvinator looks and cooks like it is brand new. It was easily the best $109 I've spent on my home. Read more...

This part is sold individually. This is a part for your stove top. The surface element is what your cookware sits on. The element supplies heat at varying temperatures. This may need to be replaced if the coil has shorted out or the terminal block shorted, and this caused the connectors at the end to burn out. The element is set in place by springs. You will need to push the springs in to release the old element. Make sure the drip bowl is lined up with the terminal block and press the new element into place.

burned out burner
First we removed two screws under the rim of the range top to open the lid. Lifted the lid and removed the screws from the bracket that holds the elements, Be careful with the clips that hold the element in, if you break them or bend them there aren't any more! Also note which holes they were in, they are marked according to the different sizes of elements. Disconnected the wires, needed needlenose pliers to grip them...connected new element, popped it back in place, replaced bracket, closed top ...Easy peasy!!! Read more...

9" radiant burner element stopped working.
VERY IMPORTANT! kill the circuit breaker to the unit and/or unplugged it! 2 screws hold the ceramic glass top to the lip @ top of oven--remove them and the top can be lifted up to expose all the burner elements and wiring--remove the 2 end screws that hold the retainer bracket for the burners - then remove the 2 screws that hold the burner in question to the bracket-there's also a retainer pin that needs a bit of fussing with to completely free the burner--once totally free remove the wires from the bad unit to the good unit exactly as they are situated --install new unit onto bracket with screws and bracket back to its original location on the ceramic top-put top back down and replace both anchor screws--initiate power back to unit and yeeehahh--You just saved yourself lottsa money from repair bills!!! rf burner was not working
First I removed 2 screws that held the stove top in place. Raised the stove top and support it. Then, I removed the hold down spring for the burner and removed three wires from the old burner. I found that the connector on the white wire was spread open too much so I crimped it closed for a better fit on the terminal. I reattached the three wires, put the hold down spring back in place, lowered the stove top and installed the 2 screws. JOB DONE Read more...
