Craftsman Trimmer Cover Spool

This cover is designed for use with trimmers and edgers and is a genuine OEM part. Made of plastic, this cover is used to hold and secure the spool or line within the trimmer cutter head assembly. If the cover for your trimmer is broken or damaged and cannot contain the spool or line, the cover needs to be replaced immediately. To replace the cover, push in the upper slots on the cover, which will disconnect and release it from the rest of the assembly.

This is a genuine part which is supplied directly from the original equipment manufacturer and is used with Craftsman hedge trimmers. The cap holds in the spool and bumper to the spool housing. This part is made of durable plastic and is sold individually. There are no tools required for installation, simply push the two tabs on the side of the cap and snap it into the housing. It is the same process to remove the old one.

Because of everyday fatigue and wear, the cap can become damaged over time and must be replaced. You will know if it is time to replace your fuel cap if you notice visible damage or experience fuel leaking from it. You can make this repair by hand, just attach the cap directly back onto the fuel tank.

This is a Manufacturer Approved replacement part designed for Gas String Trimmers. The purpose of this Cover is to secure Foam Filter which is Sold Individually and protect internal parts like Carburetor from dirt and debris. This Assembly includes Plastic Outer Cover, Plastic Insulator and Two (2) Metal Bolts used to attach it to the unit. Replacing this part will require a Phillips Head or a Flat Head Screwdriver. To replace simply remove two Screws and pull off the Cover. Please note when replacing this item it is recommended to also replace Air Cleaner Gasket (Sold Separately) which provides an air tight seal between carburetor and Insulator.

It securely holds the trimmer line in place, preventing it from unraveling while you operate the trimmer. The cover, made of plastic, is located at the bottom of the trimmer head. If the cover is broken, you may notice cracks, chips, or missing parts. This can result in tangled or improperly feeding trimmer line. Furthermore, exposing the spool and line increases the risk of damage and accelerates wear. You will not be able to trim evenly or precisely. Replacing a broken spool cover is a simple task that requires no tools. Just remove the old cover and snap the new one on. Please keep in mind that the spool cover is sold separately from the spool.
