Hi Rich,
Thank you for your question. Your thermostat should read 0 ohms when testing it at room temperature. Good luck with your repair.

Is the safety thermostat used with this dryer instead of a thermal fuse, or does it have both?
For model number 41790052990
Hi Paul,
Thank you for your question. It looks like your appliance just has a cycling thermostat and this safety thermostat. The safety thermostat would replace the thermal fuse. Some models actually do carry both but yours only has the safety and cycling thermostats. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

Regarding the safety thermostat l180-40f, what does the 40 represent? Is it a temp differential for the t-stat closing? In the slim event is has failed, 1%, would it be ok to substitute a fusible link with the same or close specifications?
For model number AGQ7000ES1
Hello Michael, Thank you for the question. The 40f is the limit where the Thermostat is triggered to start to raise the heat and not allow the temperature to go under 40F. We can not recommend a substitute sorry, we can only suggest replacing the part when defective. If you need help placing an order, customer service is open 7 days a week. Please feel free to give us a call. We look forward to hearing from you!

Hi Terry, thank you for your question. When you are experiencing an issue like this there are a few parts that you will have to test to determine what is causing your issue. For all of these parts you can test them with a multi meter. First you will have to test your thermostats and thermal fuses to make sure they are all functioning correctly. After that you will want to test parts in this order, your m series coils, igniter itself, or your radiant flame sensor. You may also want to check your regulator just to make sure that part is functioning properly as well. Something else you should also check would be your filter and ducts. Make sure there is absolutely no blockage that would restrict air flow in your appliance. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.
