Timer knob cracked at control circle, would not turn the metal shaft.
1. Pulled off the broken plastic turn knob. 2. Had to pry off the metal ring from inside the broken knob that stayed on the metal shaft. 3. Pushed on the new knob, with new metal ring inside, making sure to line up the flats- from knob and metal shaft.

The timer knob cracked and would not turn on.
I followed your instructions. Removed the old knob. Used pliers to get inner pice off as the new knob has that little metal washer thingy in my new replacement knob. Thanks I am happy you save me money.

Timer mechanism on Dryer was dead
I followed a YouTube video demonstration, which explained how to open the Dryer console, disconnect eight different wire from the old, malfunctioning timer mechanism, remove the old timer, and install the new timer, reconnecting all of the wires to terminals on the new timer.

Hi - does p/n ps3487132, gray timer knob, also come with the metal clip that sits inside the d shaped connector? Knob is broken and won't turn timer, although i can turn it with plyers. Figured i would try replacing the knob before timer. Thanks - ed

I put the know on Cotton but the dryer didn’t heat. When I put it on permanent press it worked. I don’t think that the knob is working correctly.
For model number GTDP490EDOWS
