I put a new gasket on the refig side of Whirlpool side by side and air is leaking around bottom half of door paper slides right out of new gasket but not at top any ideas?

Hi Bob,
Thank you for your question. Sometimes it can take a week or so for your gasket to form correctly. Helping it along with a hair dryer might speed up the process for you. Usually it is just something that, as the door is closed, sorts out itself. If after a week or so you do not see any improvement to your gasket sealing along your door, contact our customer service. It could be that your gasket was defective. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

How do I replace the door gaskets side by side for both doors?
For model number ED22DWXTN04

Hello Wayne,
Thanks for your question. Unplug the fridge. Remove the hinge cover and the hinge. Lift the door off and remove the wiring harness for the dispenser. Remove the kickplate and disconnect the water line and pull it through the bottom hinge. Remove the door and put it on a flat surface. Put your new gasket out in the sun to get the creases or wrinkles out. You will want to measure the new gasket against the old one to ensure it's got the correct measurements. Peel back the old gasket, starting from the middle of a longer side. Use wire cutters to snip the gasket to the door liner. Carefully pull on it to remove it from the door liner, then cut it the rest of the way. Pull the gasket out from the sides and work around the door. Use a putty knife with tape about 3/4" of an inch up around it to run it through the outer/inner door gap to clean it out. Push the hard plastic part of the new gasket underneath the liner with a blunt object. Start with a corner and press the gasket all around the door.
I hope this helps.

disfigured, torn along bottom of door
I loosen the screws with a nut driver just enough to pull old gasket away from door. This way the door panel and gasket retainer stay in place. I placed gasket from top and worked my way down one side. It took a little more time to slip gasket under retainer evenly, tighten each screw to keep gasket from pulling out while working around door.

Refrigerator came with house my daughter purchased and needed new seals. Refrigerator is 17 years old.
First, I read your instructions on line about how to replace a refrigerator gasket and freezer gasket. We replaced both. The information was extremely helpful since we had never done this before. We then loosed a few screws at a time starting with the outside door corner and worked our way around, replacing the seal as we took off the old seal. Leaving the old seal on as we worked our way around gave us the clearance we needed to insert the new gasket behind the metal plate which holds the gasket to the door. Your easy to use web site made ordering easy and delivery was unbelievably fast. Thanks.

Chirping sound coming from the freezer-old gasket on food door causing air leakage r
Removed shelving, ice maker & other air deverters to get at fan motor. Disconnected power, then removed motor by removing screws holding motor assembly in place. Push fan blade on to motor reconnect wiring.
Chirping stopped and ice cream is now rock hard.
Food door gasket was more time consuming than hard. Loosen old gasket screws with not driver. Gasket is then easily removed. Reinstall gasket, but keep retaining strips loose so you can adjust gasket for a correct fit.

Easy to install
The magnets are terrible they are small and not strong enough to seal the door tight. Gasket fits great.
