Water that fills your dishwasher lifts this float, and when it reaches a certain level, it acts as a trigger for the float switch. The float triggers the float switch to shut off, thereby shutting off the flow of water into the dishwasher.

Starts to fill and as wash starts the pump pump out the water
Is. Ps260235. The problem
For model number HDA3400G02BB
Hello Greg, thank you for your question. We would recommend checking the float switch, water valve, and pump. If those parts are tested and are fine, the issue is probably the electronic control board. I hope this helps!

Runs but no water, Have purchased and replaced the water inlet valve but problem still persists. Water lines and pressure to the new inlet valve are fine. I have run the machine with the door open to observe water flow into the machine and water is barely coming up into the propeller and spray system. Is this a symptom of a faulty float switch.
For model number HDA2000F04WH
Hi Lawrence, thank you for your inquiry. Yes, inspect the float switch, part number PS260235. The float switch could be faulty or stuck, causing the issue. The float and float switch are safety mechanisms designed to prevent the dishwasher from overfilling. Also, check the drain hose, if the drain hose is positioned incorrectly (too low) or has a kink, it can sometimes interfere with the water level detection system or cause a siphoning effect, preventing proper filling. Glad to be of help!

The dishwasher starts than turns off
For model number GDF460PGT5BB
Hello Sandra, thank you for your question. It could be due to a clogged dishwasher filter PS16217023 which can cause the dishwasher to stop mid-cycle. Or, a malfunctioning Control Board PS16762494. If the dishwasher cannot fill with water due to a faulty Water Inlet Valve PS16219694, it can just shut off. We hope this is of some help to you.
