DISCONNECT POWER TO THE DW FIRST! First of all, I need to let you know that my DIY skills usually involve calling someone else to do the job! But I found a couple of good videos online that provided some basic information about the remove/replace steps for the timer. What they DIDN'T warn me about was that there is a spring-loaded leve ... Read more r located directly between the timer and the dw door. When I took the timer off, the lever and spring went flying! The lever that fell off is actually a part of the soap dispenser mechanism. It took me a while (45 minutes) to figure out how all of the pieces went back together. There is a small post on the door that one end of the spring attaches to. The other end of the spring attaches to the open end of the white lever - this lever goes between the timer and the door- kind of an important step to make sure you have these pieces when putting the unit back together! As you put the cover back on the dw door, make sure that the white lever and the black soap dispenser lever are connected (you will have to spin the black lever so that it will connect with the white lever). Just make sure to take your time and breathe! This was a little frustrating at first, but if you relax and try to visualize how the pieces fit together, you'll be running dishes again in no time! Turned off curcuit breaker, removed inside door panel. Access timer motor assembly, changed out. Has two plugs...
